Saudi autotech Syarah raises $12 million from Impact46 to scale digital car marketplace
Saudi Arabia-based automotive technology startup Syarah has secured $12 million in a new investment round from Impact46 as it looks to expand its digital marketplace for new and used vehicles across the Kingdom. The company, founded in 2015 by Salah Sharef and Fayez Alanazi, said the injection will support nationwide expansion and strengthen its platform and vehicle delivery operations. The stage of the funding round was not disclosed.
"The latest investment is expected to support Syarah’s nationwide expansion, while strengthening its digital platform and vehicle delivery operations," the company said.
Syarah operates an online automotive marketplace that enables consumers to browse and purchase new and used vehicles through a digital platform where much of the purchasing process can be completed remotely and vehicles delivered directly to customers' locations. The company already serves customers across all regions of Saudi Arabia and, according to reporting, has facilitated thousands of vehicle purchases.
Founded by Salah Sharef and Fayez Alanazi in 2015, Syarah combines discovery, purchasing and delivery on a single platform aimed at simplifying the car-buying journey. The startup’s model targets customers who prefer to avoid traditional dealership visits by offering a broader selection of vehicles and end-to-end logistics support.
- Investment amount: $12 million from Impact46
- Founders: Salah Sharef and Fayez Alanazi
- Previous funding: $60 million Series C in 2024 led by Artal Capital, with participation from Elm, Impact46, Tawuniya and Derayah Ventures
- Scope: Nationwide service across all regions of Saudi Arabia; thousands of vehicle purchases facilitated
The $12 million follows a $60 million Series C round in 2024 that was led by Artal Capital and included returning investor Impact46 alongside Elm, Tawuniya and Derayah Ventures. Impact46’s continued participation signals sustained investor interest in Syarah’s proposition and the broader digital automotive segment in Saudi Arabia. The company has not provided a detailed breakdown of capital allocation for the new funds.
Operationally, Syarah’s platform supports remote browsing, transaction completion and home delivery of vehicles — functions designed to reduce friction in the purchase process. Its digital-first approach aims to give customers across disparate regions access to a wider inventory without the need to travel to multiple dealerships. The startup’s combination of marketplace technology and logistics infrastructure positions it to capture consumers shifting toward online vehicle purchases.
Looking ahead, Syarah plans to use the fresh capital to broaden its reach across the Kingdom and continue investing in technology and logistics. As the company scales, priorities are likely to include bolstering its delivery network, enhancing the digital purchasing flow, and expanding inventory partnerships to sustain a larger, geographically distributed customer base.
Investors such as Impact46, which participated both in the 2024 Series C and this latest round, appear focused on backing companies that can operationalize technology-driven distribution models at scale in Saudi Arabia’s automotive market. For Syarah, the $12 million round will be measured by its ability to convert investor support into broader market penetration and improved end-to-end customer experience.
