New fintech reconciliation and fraud detection platform helps UAE mobile money providers safeguard their revenue
LATRO has launched Assure Fintech, a cloud-native financial assurance platform to help mobile money providers reconcile complex transactions and detect fraud. The platform targets reconciliation, transaction-level validation and monitoring of agent fraud, account takeover and SIM-swap attacks.

LATRO, a global technology and managed services provider with offices in Dubai, has launched Assure Fintech, a cloud-native financial assurance platform designed to help mobile money providers and mobile network operators reconcile increasingly complex transaction flows and detect fraud. The platform targets reconciliation between core mobile money systems and financial partners, transaction validation down to the individual level, and monitoring of risks such as agent fraud, account takeover and SIM-swap attacks. LATRO says the move addresses growing regulatory and operational pressures as mobile money ecosystems expand — a sector that processed more than US$2 trillion in transactions in 2025.
"MNO-led mobile money services are transforming quickly across our markets, and UAE consumers can see this through services such as e& money and du Pay. As transaction volumes grow, regulatory requirements are demanding controls and, in some cases, segregated IT infrastructure that go beyond legacy telecom systems. AML and other risk controls can no longer simply be layered onto traditional RAFM platforms. Assure Fintech provides a modern, cloud-native platform built specifically to help mobile money providers manage greater scale, complexity and speed efficiently," said Donald Reinhart, Chief Executive Officer, LATRO.
Platform capabilities and immediate impact
Assure Fintech is positioned as a purpose-built financial assurance layer rather than a traditional telecom revenue assurance and fraud management (RAFM) system. Core capabilities described by LATRO include:
- Reconciliation of transaction, fee and commission data between the mobile money platform and financial partners;
- Validation and flagging of discrepancies at the individual transaction level;
- Monitoring for agent fraud, account takeover, SIM-swap fraud, suspicious transaction patterns and KYC failures;
- Integration with existing infrastructure and a mix of standardised controls and configurable rules tailored to each provider’s risk profile.
LATRO highlights a recent deployment with a rapidly growing mobile money provider that serves 3.5 million subscribers, processes 1.7 million daily transactions and manages more than 1,000 partner integrations. Within 24 hours of Assure Fintech’s controls going live, the platform identified recurring billing leakage and operational risks that had been missed by the provider’s existing review processes; the underlying configuration issue was corrected before further losses accumulated.
Context: rising complexity and financial exposure
Industry estimates cited by LATRO note that revenue leakage and control weaknesses can cost operators between 0.5% and 10% of annual revenue, representing billions of dollars globally. The UAE market context adds urgency: the wider fintech market in the country is projected to grow from approximately US$3.16 billion in 2024 to US$5.71 billion by 2029, while mobile payment providers increasingly offer cross-border remittances and short-term lending — services that introduce additional partners, data flows and regulatory requirements.
Outlook
As mobile network operators expand beyond traditional voice and data services into wallets and payments, platforms like Assure Fintech aim to become part of the compliance and control stack required by regulators and partners. For UAE providers, LATRO says such controls can support the monitoring of international remittances, lending transactions, timely investigation of payments on hold and automated action on accounts when identity credentials such as Emirates IDs expire. If deployments replicate the early detection seen in LATRO’s pilot, providers could reduce leakage and operational risk as transaction volumes and service complexity continue to rise.
