Exclusive: Donatella Versace Is Back With a New Brand
Donatella Versace has entered a joint venture with Los Angeles-based Revolve Group to launch an independent fashion and beauty brand built around her creative vision, with products and a public name reveal planned for 2027 and distribution across multiple global regions.

Donatella Versace has entered a new joint venture with Los Angeles-based Revolve Group Inc. to launch an independent fashion and beauty brand built around her personal creative vision. The partnership — announced during Milan Fashion Week — will roll out across the United States, Latin America, Asia‑Pacific and the Middle East, with the first products and a public name reveal slated for 2027. Revolve Group reported $1.23 billion in total revenue in 2025 and will leverage its platforms Revolve and Fwrd to build and distribute the new label.
"Revolve understands something I believe deeply: culture comes from connection," Donatella Versace said in the announcement. "Together, we want to create that connection with a new voice, a new look, and a new energy."
Partnership and positioning
The venture pairs Versace — who stepped down as chief creative officer of the Versace house in March 2025 after nearly 30 years in the role and now serves as chief brand ambassador — with Revolve's founders Michael Mente and Mike Karanikolas. Revolve, founded in 2003, operates two consumer platforms: Revolve for established labels and Fwrd for emerging designers. The company has also moved into beauty through recent joint ventures, including collaborations with Cardi B and influencer Sofia Richie Grainge.
- Founders: Michael Mente and Mike Karanikolas (co‑founders and co‑CEOs)
- Revolve 2025 revenue: $1.23 billion
- Planned launch regions: United States, Latin America, Asia‑Pacific, Middle East
- First products and name reveal: 2027
- Versace's Instagram following: 12.2 million
How the deal will work
Revolve's leadership framed the deal as a rare opportunity to combine a storied creative voice with a modern digital and retail infrastructure. "Donatella is one of the defining creative voices of our time. This partnership gives that vision an entirely new platform and the freedom to build something from the ground up," said Michael Mente, co‑founder and co‑CEO. Raissa Gerona, Revolve's president of brand and partnerships, added: "Donatella has an extraordinary instinct for what the next generation wants and an unmatched ability to connect fashion with culture. That is what makes this partnership so exciting."
"By combining Donatella’s creative authority with Revolve’s technology, infrastructure and global reach, we have an opportunity to create something genuinely distinctive — and build it for the long term," Mike Karanikolas concluded in the release, signaling both parties expect a multi‑year effort rather than a seasonal collaboration.
Context and cultural reach
The new brand arrives amid a period of change for the Versace house: ownership shifted when Capri Holdings repositioned the brand earlier in 2025, and the label was later acquired by Prada Group last December. Donatella's cultural footprint remains strong — she has 12.2 million Instagram followers and her designs continue to appear on A‑list red carpets — a factor Revolve highlighted as central to reaching younger consumers through fashion, beauty and entertainment beyond the runway.
Outlook
Executives say the venture will go beyond clothing to include beauty and entertainment initiatives intended to engage music, film and art communities. With a planned staggered introduction beginning in 2027 and distribution across major global regions, the project will test whether a legacy designer working with a digitally native retailer can quickly build a new lifestyle brand that resonates with the next generation.
