Egypt’s Breadfast adds food delivery services to its everyday convenience platform
Egyptian e‑commerce startup Breadfast has launched Breadfast Food, a restaurant discovery and delivery service within its everyday convenience app after a successful beta and a US$50M pre‑Series C funding round. The move leverages its tech, logistics and supply‑chain capabilities to broaden services and expand across Egypt.

Breadfast launches restaurant delivery service as it expands everyday convenience platform
Egyptian e‑commerce startup Breadfast has launched Breadfast Food, a new restaurant delivery service integrated into its existing everyday convenience app. Founded in 2017 by Mostafa Amin, Muhammad Habib and Abdallah Nofal, the company added the meals offering after a successful beta period and fresh capital: Breadfast closed a US$50 million pre‑Series C round last month and says the new service leverages its technology, logistics and supply‑chain capabilities.
“Our customers don’t think about groceries, meals, coffee, or personal care as separate services. They simply want the easiest and most reliable way to get everything they need in their daily lives. That’s the thinking behind Breadfast Food. It brings together customers’ favourite restaurants, exclusive daily offers and discounts, and a fast, reliable delivery experience within the Breadfast platform,” said Muhammad Habib, co‑founder and COO of Breadfast.
The Breadfast Food roll‑out follows a beta phase that the company described as having seen strong customer adoption. The service allows users to discover and order from a curated selection of restaurants directly through the Breadfast mobile app, joining Breadfast’s core offerings of on‑demand grocery and household essentials delivery. The startup originally began with a focus on baked goods and has since broadened into groceries and other daily needs.

Breadfast says the new vertical builds on an “advanced technology platform” and an “established logistics network” it has developed over years of operating in Egypt. By integrating restaurant delivery into the same customer experience as groceries and other services, the company aims to reduce the need for consumers to use multiple apps for everyday tasks and to increase wallet share within its user base.
Beyond customer convenience, Breadfast frames the expansion as part of a broader growth strategy. “As we continue to grow, we’ll keep expanding our services by bringing more everyday services to the platform while expanding our presence across Egypt,” Habib added. “In doing so, we’ll create more opportunities for our partners, generate more jobs, and move closer to our vision of building Egypt’s leading everyday convenience platform.”
The move into restaurant delivery positions Breadfast to compete more directly with dedicated food delivery players and multi‑service apps operating in Egypt, leveraging its existing supply‑chain relationships and last‑mile infrastructure. With the US$50 million pre‑Series C funding behind it, the company has signalled that product diversification and geographic expansion inside Egypt will be priorities as it seeks to broaden the range of daily services available through a single, unified app experience.
