Cairo-based Anees Health raises Seed funding to scale its integrated home healthcare model

Cairo-based home healthcare startup Anees Health has closed a Seed funding round for an undisclosed amount to scale an integrated, clinician-led model that coordinates a patient’s entire care journey. Founded in 2025 by Dr. Mahmoud Darwish and Dr. Ahmed Oraby and headquartered in New Cairo’s Fifth Settlement, Anees says it has delivered more than 1,000 medical and care services and is targeting an operational capacity of over 20,000 visits in 2027.

“Families need more than a provider that arranges a medical visit. They need someone to take responsibility for the entire journey. We are building a system that brings different services together around the patient under one care plan, supporting them from the initial assessment until their condition stabilises, instead of leaving families to coordinate care on their own,” said Dr. Mahmoud Darwish, co-founder and CEO of Anees Health.

Model and capabilities

Anees Health positions itself as a multidisciplinary, in‑home medical provider with doctors, nurses, physiotherapists and lab staff operating as a single coordinated team on one medical record from a patient’s first call through their final visit. The startup runs multidisciplinary care teams and relies on an in‑house electronic health record built on the HL7 FHIR global data-exchange standard.

• Clinical emphasis: Geriatric medicine central to the model, supported by family medicine to coordinate other specialties; serves older adults, patients with chronic illness, post-surgical and rehabilitation cases, and longevity programmes.
• Demographic context: Egypt’s population aged 60+ reached 9.8 million in 2025, up from 9.3 million in 2024, per national statistics.

“In geriatric medicine and longevity care, medication, movement, nutrition and cognition cannot be treated as separate needs. Our strategy is to see the whole patient, understand how each decision affects the rest of the care plan, and turn that understanding into an integrated model that can scale while maintaining quality of care,” said Dr. Ahmed Oraby.

Strategic moves and use of capital

Although Anees Health did not disclose the participating investors or the round size, the company said the Seed capital will be deployed to expand geriatric medicine and care‑coordination teams, build out operational and clinical infrastructure, extend coverage across Greater Cairo, and deepen post‑discharge coordination with partner hospitals. The startup argued its offering addresses not a shortage of providers but the absence of a single team coordinating a patient’s multiple care needs.

Alongside the funding, entrepreneur Ebrahem Anwar — who has co‑founded six companies over more than 15 years and led one to an exit — has joined Anees as a strategic advisor. Management says the goal is to sustain a model in which a single physician oversees each patient’s care under one unified plan even as visit volumes scale toward 20,000 in 2027.
