BENEFIT Launches Fifth Edition of “MASAR” Fintech Summer Internship Program
BENEFIT has launched the fifth edition of its MASAR Fintech Summer Internship Program, a two-month placement for penultimate and final-year university students to gain hands-on experience across BENEFIT departments and prepare for careers in Bahrain's digital payments ecosystem.

BENEFIT has launched the fifth edition of its annual MASAR Fintech Summer Internship Program, a two-month placement designed for third- and fourth-year university students that offers hands-on exposure across multiple departments. The programme aims to accelerate participants’ transition from academia to the workplace by combining day-to-day operational tasks with cross-functional collaboration and professional development activities focused on Bahrain’s digital payments infrastructure and electronic financial services ecosystem.
“We are proud to launch the fifth edition of MASAR, a program that reflects BENEFIT’s continued commitment to investing in Bahraini youth and preparing them for the future of the fintech sector. Our aim is to give students a real opportunity to learn from the workplace, build confidence, and develop practical skills that will help them take their first steps into their professional careers,” said Mr. Salah Al Awadhi, Chief Human Resources Officer at BENEFIT.
The MASAR internship runs for two months and is open to students in their penultimate and final years of university study. BENEFIT positions the programme as a practical bridge between academic learning and the demands of the fintech labour market, enabling interns to rotate through different teams and gain a rounded view of the company’s operations. The initiative emphasises experiential learning to help participants understand real workplace dynamics, build professional confidence, and develop technical and soft skills relevant to electronic financial transactions and payments services.
Programme structure and participant experience
- Duration: two months, targeting third- and fourth-year university students.
- Departments: placements across several BENEFIT departments to provide cross-functional exposure.
- Learning goals: practical workplace experience, professional confidence, and transition support from university to employment.
- Focus areas: Bahrain’s digital payments infrastructure and the broader electronic financial services ecosystem.
BENEFIT highlights that this year’s edition has been tailored to offer a “more comprehensive experience,” combining day-to-day workplace responsibilities with structured professional development opportunities. Interns are expected to work closely with teams to gain insight into BENEFIT’s role within Bahrain’s payments landscape, while also developing competencies that are directly applicable to careers in fintech — from operational processes and product support to collaboration on cross-functional projects.
The company frames MASAR as part of its broader investment in local talent, intending to cultivate a pipeline of skilled graduates equipped for the fintech sector. By exposing young Bahrainis to live projects and internal workflows, BENEFIT aims to reduce the gap between theoretical study and practical job requirements, helping participants demonstrate readiness for early-career roles.
Outlook
As the fifth edition begins, BENEFIT’s continued delivery of MASAR signals an ongoing commitment to workforce development within the fintech domain. For participating students, the programme represents a concentrated period of professional growth and networking inside a key player in Bahrain’s electronic payments market. For BENEFIT, the internships provide an opportunity to identify and nurture potential future hires familiar with the company’s operations and the technical demands of modern payment services.
