Startups and technology companies across the Middle East and North Africa announced a string of funding rounds, acquisitions and strategic partnerships this week, led by a $10 million series A for Saudi logistics startup Sirdab and a SR94.3 million (about $25.15 million) growth package for Saudi corporate travel platform FlyAkeed . The region also saw corporate deals such as a memorandum of understanding between Saudi AI infrastructure firm OmniOps and Hewlett Packard Enterprise, and a $7 billion joint-venture development announced by UAE developer Arada . "The planned stack will support in-country deployment for government and enterprise customers, including cloud, on-premises and isolated environments," the OmniOps- HPE announcement said, underlining an emphasis on local data and infrastructure control. Several notable financings and strategic moves illustrate both vertical diversification and geographic expansion across the MENA startup scene: Sirdab raised $10 million in a Series A co-led by Elm (backed by the Public Investment Fund ) and BECO Capital, with participation from Y Combinator , COTU Ventures and D Global Ventures . Founded in 2022 by Naif Al-Zahri and Abdulrahman Al-Namlah, Sirdab will expand its warehousing and transport network across Saudi Arabia and the Gulf Cooperation Council and develop AI-based logistics tools. FlyAkeed secured SR94.3 million ($25.15 million) through equity and Murabaha sukuk financing; Sanabil Investments led the equity tranche with Artal Capital, tali ventures and Aljazira Capital also participating. "The company will develop an embedded deferred-payment service for large enterprises," the company said, and currently serves more than 150 Saudi corporate clients. COFE Tech , founded by Ali Al-Ebrahim in 2018, closed an undisclosed pre-IPO round at a $178 million valuation.
