Week 33 Africa Startup Funding Led by Corma
Israeli startups dominated this week's disclosed raises, with Corma leading a $131.55M regional total after a $60M seed, while Remepy raised $36M Series A for its AI-augmented drug program and Attestable secured $20M seed for AI security verification.

Startups across Africa, the Middle East and Israel raised a combined $131.55 million in disclosed funding rounds this week, led by a $60 million seed round for Israeli cybersecurity startup Corma. Investor interest clustered in cybersecurity and healthtech, with two Israeli companies — Corma and Remepy — responsible for the bulk of the week's capital. Other notable activity included a $20 million seed raise for Attestable, a firm building verification tools for AI security.
"Remepy develops what it calls 'Hybrid Drugs', pairing prescription medicines with AI-powered therapy apps that adapt physical, cognitive, and behavioural activities to each patient," the fundraising summaries state, while Attestable aims to "let AI labs prove their security setup to an outside party rather than simply asserting it."
Largest rounds this week
- Corma — $60 million (Cybersecurity, Israel). Sequoia Capital led the seed round, with Khosla Ventures and Coatue also participating. The company emerged from stealth with 20 staff in Tel Aviv and said the funds will be used to build defensive AI models dedicated to cyber defence.
- Remepy — $36 million (Healthtech, Israel). O.G. Venture Partners and M Ventures (the investment arm of Merck KGaA) led the Series A. Remepy will use the capital to expand its pipeline, add pharmaceutical partnerships, and fund global Phase III trials of Hybridopa, its Parkinson's treatment, beginning in the final quarter of 2026.
- Attestable — $20 million (Cybersecurity, Israel). TLV Partners and Altimeter Capital led the seed round, joined by Netz Capital, Cerca Partners and several private investors. Founded in 2025, Attestable plans to develop its verification technology with the new funding.
Corma's $60 million seed round is notable both for its size and for the investor lineup. Sequoia Capital's lead on a seed deal, alongside Khosla Ventures and Coatue, signals strong conviction in the startup's thesis: that AI models trained specifically for cyber defence are necessary because general-purpose models can be more effective at attacking systems than defending them. The company, which publicly surfaced from stealth this week, will use the proceeds to accelerate development of those defensive models from its Tel Aviv base.
Remepy's $36 million Series A underscores continued investor appetite for healthtech that combines pharmaceuticals with digital therapeutics. The company's flagship program, Hybridopa, is preparing for global Phase III trials scheduled to start in late 2026. Backing from O.G. Venture Partners and M Ventures — the latter affiliated with Merck KGaA — positions Remepy to expand partnerships with pharmaceutical companies and grow its clinical pipeline.
Attestable's $20 million seed round reflects a parallel interest in tooling for AI governance and security. Founded in 2025, the startup is pitching solutions that verify AI behaviour and configurations to external parties — an offering that investors including TLV Partners and Altimeter Capital found compelling enough to bankroll its early development.
Outlook
With cybersecurity and healthtech dominating this week’s disclosed raises, investors are channeling sizeable capital into specialised AI applications — both defensive tools and digitally augmented therapies. The two Israeli rounds alone accounted for the majority of the $131.55 million total, suggesting that regional pockets of deep technical expertise continue to attract large, early-stage investments. Over the coming quarters, attention will be on how Corma scales its defensive AI models, how Remepy progresses Hybridopa into mid- and late-stage trials, and whether Attestable can convert demand for external verification into broader enterprise adoption.
