Value Makers Studio (VMS) has launched VMS Accelerate, a three-month Cairo-based accelerator that will provide up to USD 28,700 (EGP 1.5 million) in cash investment per startup and plans to invest in seven companies in its first Cairo cohort. The programme targets Seed and Seed+ Egyptian startups with scalable business models and regional ambitions, pairing capital with mentorship, strategic guidance and introductions to Saudi corporate and investor networks to support regional expansion.

“Egypt is home to one of the region’s most dynamic startup ecosystems. At VMS, we see enormous potential in Egyptian founders who are building scalable businesses. Through VMS Accelerate, we aim to provide the capital, mentorship, and market access needed to help these startups expand into Saudi Arabia — one of the fastest-growing startup markets in the region,” said Motaz Abuonq, CEO of Value Makers Studio (VMS).

Program details

  • Duration: three months combining structured learning with practical exposure.
  • Investment: up to around USD 28.7 thousand (EGP 1.5M) in cash per startup.
  • First cohort size: VMS plans to invest in seven startups in the inaugural Cairo cohort.
  • Target stage: Seed and Seed+ startups based in Egypt with scalable, regionally ambitious models.
  • Objectives: strengthen fundamentals, refine growth strategy, and prepare founders for regional expansion and future investment rounds.

Founded in 2022, Value Makers Studio is a venture studio that builds and scales startups across the Middle East and North Africa and assists global founders entering the Saudi market. VMS framed the accelerator as a bridge between the Egyptian and Saudi ecosystems, designed to create pathways into Saudi Arabia by connecting participating founders with investors, corporates and other ecosystem players in the kingdom.

Beyond the cash component, VMS Accelerate emphasises mentorship and market access. The programme will combine structured curriculum elements with direct exposure to investors and regional partners, intending to help founders refine go-to-market plans and secure partnerships that facilitate market entry into Saudi Arabia. VMS also positions the accelerator to prepare participating startups for subsequent funding rounds by strengthening business fundamentals and growth strategies.

Outlook

By committing capital to seven startups in the first Cairo cohort and mobilising Saudi market connections, VMS is betting on cross-border collaboration between the Egyptian and Saudi startup ecosystems. For Seed and Seed+ founders in Cairo aiming for regional scale, the accelerator offers a compact combination of funding, operational support and targeted introductions to potential customers and investors in Saudi Arabia. The programme’s three-month timeline will test how quickly participating teams can translate mentorship and introductions into pilot projects, partnerships or follow-on financing.

As VMS Accelerate rolls out its inaugural Cairo cohort, the key indicators to watch will be which sectors the studio selects, the pace of market entry into Saudi Arabia, and whether participating startups secure further investment following the programme’s completion.
