UAE Cabinet adopts AI Advisor System to support decision-making

The UAE Cabinet has approved the launch of a Cabinet AI Advisor system designed to support government decision‑making, accelerate the study and implementation of projects, and provide continuous follow‑up on ministerial decisions. Announced at a Cabinet meeting chaired by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum at Qasr Al Watan in Abu Dhabi on 2 September 2026, the system will deploy 32 specialised AI advisors to analyse policies and legislation, assess impacts, review global best practices and deliver recommendations to ministers around the clock.

"The move is part of a wider transformation of government services using agentic artificial intelligence," Sheikh Mohammed said, stressing the UAE's focus on "making government more efficient and ensuring faster, more accurate decisions."

System features, training and broader approvals

The Cabinet AI Advisor system is intended to operate as a persistent policy analysis and implementation support tool, working directly with ministers to track progress on government decisions. Key elements and related Cabinet approvals announced at the meeting include:

• Deployment of 32 specialised AI advisors to evaluate legislation, policy options, and global best practice.
• A national teacher training programme to equip 22,000 teachers and educators to use AI in teaching, assessment, lesson planning and curriculum development.
• An approved rollout of an AI curriculum across public and private schools, with plans to share the UAE's experience internationally.
• Approval of the agenda for the UAE Government Annual Meetings, scheduled for 8–10 November 2026, under the theme of "readiness and resilience."
• Measures covering autonomous vehicles, cloud migration and financial sustainability, alongside approvals relating to environmental protection and entrepreneurship.
• Endorsement of the National Ecotourism Policy and a review of progress under the National Strategy to Combat Desertification.
• Ratification of several international agreements spanning investment, healthcare, education, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, energy and tourism.

Cabinet commentary framed the AI Advisor as a central element in a broader "new government season" focused on innovation, readiness and sustained development. Sheikh Mohammed outlined three key messages for government teams: maintaining delivery despite challenges, recognising the transformative role of agentic AI, and building on long‑standing public trust. The Cabinet also reviewed ongoing programmes in government digital transformation and environmental protection during the session.

The Cabinet AI Advisor system aims to institutionalise AI into the policy lifecycle—from analysis and benchmarking to implementation tracking—while simultaneously preparing the education workforce and students for broader AI adoption. Training 22,000 educators and launching a national AI curriculum signals an emphasis on capacity building that will accompany the technical rollout.

With the UAE Government Annual Meetings set for November and a slate of cross‑sector international agreements approved, the AI Advisor launch forms part of coordinated steps to integrate artificial intelligence into governance, education and strategic national programmes.
