Tunisian Entrepreneur Safi Negra Digitizes Home Services With Ijeni Platform

Safi Negra, a Tunisian engineer and serial entrepreneur, is digitizing neighbourhood services through Ijeni, a multi-service platform he co-founded and leads. Launched in 2020, Ijeni connects households with local providers across home maintenance, plumbing, beauty care, private tutoring, event services, wellness and IT support, allowing users to compare professionals by location, experience and community reviews and to publish detailed job requests with photographs to speed responses.

"Safi Negra is a Tunisian engineer, serial entrepreneur and the co-founder and chief executive of Ijeni, a digital platform that matches individuals with local service providers," the company profile reads, summarising the role Negra has built since Ijeni's 2020 launch.

How the platform works

Ijeni’s model is built around simplicity and transparency. Users select the service they need, compare available professionals, agree terms directly with the provider after the platform makes an initial match, then complete the job and submit mutual evaluations. The application enables customers to publish detailed service requests — including photographs and precise descriptions — which are forwarded immediately to nearby professionals to reduce response times.

The service mix is broad: beyond traditional home repair and plumbing, Ijeni lists beauty and wellness treatments, private tutoring, event planning and IT support. The platform positions itself as a neighbourhood marketplace, emphasising community reviews and proximity to help users choose providers.

Entrepreneurial track record and background

Negra’s activity extends beyond Ijeni. He is chief executive of Ntech Web Agency, a digital agency he founded. In 2017 he launched DesignTab, an e-commerce platform specialising in wall décor, and in 2020 he created Chaambi, an artisanal leather goods brand. These ventures form a portfolio that spans technology, e-commerce and artisanal retail.

  • Education: preparatory diploma in physics and chemistry from the El Manar Preparatory Institute for Engineering Studies (2012); master’s degree in technology project management from the École Centrale Polytechnique of Tunis (2017).
  • International experience: business engineer at Euridis Sales Academy in France (2015).
  • Companies founded or led: Ijeni (2020), Ntech Web Agency, DesignTab (2017), Chaambi (2020).

Negra has combined technical training with management expertise and international commercial exposure as he developed Ijeni and his other ventures. The platform’s reliance on photographic job postings and location-based push of requests is intended to streamline the match between demand and local supply — a practical feature in urban neighbourhood markets where responsiveness matters.

Outlook

As Ijeni consolidates its presence in Tunisia, the platform’s future will hinge on expanding provider networks, maintaining quality through reviews and ensuring fast, reliable matching between customers and professionals. Negra’s background in web services and e-commerce — through Ntech Web Agency and DesignTab — and his artisanal brand Chaambi give him a diversified operational base from which to scale Ijeni’s neighbourhood services proposition. Continued investment in user experience features such as detailed request posting and rapid notification to nearby professionals will be key to reducing friction and increasing adoption across Tunisian households.
