Techne Summit Cairo 2026: Innovation Meets Investment with Global Influence - AraGeek joins as a Media Partner

Techne Summit returns to Cairo on 26–27 September 2026 with a pronounced focus on scaling, capital and policy, bringing more than 450 speakers from over 20 countries together with founders, investors, corporates and ministers. Organisers expect the wider 2026 run—Cairo and Alexandria editions—to attract over 55,000 attendees, more than 1,500 startups and over 265 community partners. Meta is a strategic partner and AraGeek has joined as a media partner for the Cairo event.

"In a region where startup events can sometimes feel like a bit of a faff, I reckon this sharper focus on growth and dealmaking is spot on," an organiser commentary reads, signalling a deliberate pivot from noise to concrete business outcomes.

The summit is positioning itself as a meeting point for real partnerships and next-stage growth rather than a showcase of early-stage demos. High-profile government participation underlines that ambition: Egypt’s Minister of Finance Ahmed Kouchouk, Minister of Communications and Information Technology Refaat Hendy, Minister of Investment Mohamed Farid, and Minister of Industry Khaled Hashem are listed among headline speakers. The lineup also includes Osama Saleh (chairman of Crédit Agricole Egypt and former minister of investment), Hossam Sadek (Universal Health Insurance Authority), Mohamed Kassem (general manager, Microsoft Egypt), Mohamed El Araby (managing director, L’Oréal Egypt), Stefano Mazzone (general manager, Roche Egypt), Sherif Nour (country president, AstraZeneca Egypt) and Ahmed El Alfi (founder, Sawari Ventures).

Programming, dealmaking and AI matchmaking

• More than 50 hours of programming across 50 sessions, 20 workshops and 10 meet-and-greets.
• Capital Connect by Alexandria Angels aims to convene roughly 250 participants for dedicated investor-founder meetings and matchmaking.
• An AI-powered summit app will assist attendees in identifying relevant contacts and scheduling meetings.

Meta’s role is framed around AI innovation, inclusion and skills-building in Egypt and the wider MENA market. Named Meta participants include Basma Ammari (director of public policy, MENA), Sarah Sakha (AI policy manager for Africa, the Middle East and Türkiye), Sherry Dzinoreva (director of policy programmes and product, Africa, the Middle East and Türkiye) and Mehdi Taher (head of public policy at Meta). Meta will contribute initiatives such as Meta AI Academy, Meta Transform with AI and My Digital World to connect founders, businesses and students with hands-on AI opportunities.

Organisers have also introduced lighter programming elements aimed at making networking less formal. Techne Unleashed, developed with PetFast, will allow attendees to bring pets into a dedicated interactive area combining pet brands, services and activities with the summit atmosphere.
