Tarabut secures $50mln in strategic financing to deepen its focus on Saudi Arabia

Tarabut has secured US$50 million in strategic financing from a consortium of Saudi financial institutions and family business groups as it refocuses on Saudi Arabia, the company announced on the sidelines of Money20/20 Middle East. The regulated infrastructure platform — which operates across Saudi Arabia, the UAE and Bahrain — said it has processed more than 5 billion API calls across the region and will use the new capital to deepen its embedded finance capabilities in the Kingdom.

“The institutions backing Tarabut are the institutions that run on our infrastructure. We built a regulated platform across Saudi Arabia, the UAE and Bahrain, and this financing will allow us to take everything we have proven across the region and go deeper where it matters most: Saudi Arabia,” said Abdulla Almoayed, Founder and CEO of Tarabut. “The biggest prize is SME finance. Financial institutions want to serve more creditworthy businesses, and our infrastructure helps them turn real financial behaviour into a clearer picture for decision-making. Embedded finance will define the next decade of this region’s economy, and we are built to power it.”

Context and details

The US$50 million round includes participation from Riyad Bank, the X‑Tech Fund managed by SAB Invest, GIB Saudi Arabia, Zamil Group and Kanoo Ventures (part of Yusuf bin Ahmed Kanoo Group), alongside other regional institutions. Tarabut positions itself as a regulated connectivity layer that links banks, distributors and consumers on a single platform and enables end-to-end embedded finance journeys — verification, decisioning and funding — delivered under partner institutions’ brands.

The company argues its technology addresses a persistent pain point for lenders in the region: underwriting that relies heavily on static, historical documentation rather than live cash-flow signals. Tarabut’s platform gives lenders real-time visibility into business transactions and cash flow, allowing capital to be disbursed at the moment of need and reducing traditional underwriting and funding delays that can stretch to weeks.

  • Scale: More than 5 billion API calls processed across Saudi Arabia, the UAE and Bahrain.
  • Use case focus: Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) that struggle with traditional underwriting frameworks.
  • Product promise: Complete embedded finance journeys under partner branding — from verification to financing.

Abdulrahman Alzamil, President of Zamil Investments, commented on his group’s participation: “Saudi Arabia is entering an important phase in the development of its financial sector, creating new opportunities for established institutions, family businesses and fintech companies to build together. Our participation in Tarabut’s strategic financing reflects our confidence in its capabilities and its commitment to deepen its presence in the Kingdom. By enabling financial institutions to better understand and serve creditworthy SMEs, Tarabut can contribute meaningfully to private-sector growth and the ambitions of Saudi Vision 2030.”

Outlook

Tarabut said the fresh financing will sharpen its “absolute focus” on Saudi Arabia — described by the company as the region’s largest financial market and the epicentre of its embedded finance vision — and will power upcoming product rollouts. The company plans to announce the next phase of its embedded finance platform in the coming months. The transaction remains subject to relevant regulatory approvals, including from the Saudi Central Bank (SAMA).
