talabat has launched Open Door, a startup enablement program that will connect early-stage companies with operational business challenges across the delivery app’s eight MENA markets. The initiative gives startups the chance to pilot and test solutions in a live commercial environment, work directly with talabat teams, and potentially scale from pilot to longer-term regional partnerships. The next cohort will launch in the UAE this month, with Oman and Bahrain cohorts planned later in the year.

“The region has an incredibly ambitious startup community, and one of the most valuable assets established companies can offer is an opportunity to solve real problems at scale,” said May Youssef, Regional Senior Director of Corporate Affairs at talabat. “Through Open Door, we are creating a clearer pathway for startups to engage with our business, test their ideas in a live environment and, where there is a strong fit, grow alongside us across the region. With this initiative, we are creating meaningful value for our business while contributing to a stronger and more connected innovation ecosystem across MENA.”

Program design and first pilots

Open Door is designed to expose early-stage firms to talabat’s operational teams and commercial settings, enabling startups to demonstrate proof of concept within active workflows. The program explicitly positions talent and operational scale as levers to turn prototype technology into proven solutions that can be adopted regionally.

As part of the rollout, talabat has signed a memorandum of understanding with QuikBot, a Singapore-headquartered deeptech company that builds autonomous delivery robots for high-rise buildings. The QuikBot pilot will run at Dubai Digital Park in Dubai Silicon Oasis, where talabat riders will hand off orders inside a building and an autonomous robot will complete the last-leg delivery to the customer’s door.
