Takahouse Raises $1.5 Million as WhistGame’s 140,000-User Base Shapes Its Next Mobile Titles
Saudi gaming startup Takahouse, founded in 2018 by Salman S Nasser, raised $1.5 million in a seed round from Riyadh-based VC Impact46 to expand its mobile-game portfolio and build on its flagship WhistGame (launched 2021) which has over 140,000 users.

Saudi gaming startup Takahouse has raised $1.5 million in a seed round from Riyadh-based venture capital firm Impact46, the company announced. Founded in 2018 by Salman S Nasser, Takahouse will use the capital to develop new mobile titles and broaden a portfolio that to date has been centred on its first release, WhistGame, which launched in 2021 and has attracted more than 140,000 users.
"Keeping social interaction at the heart of the company’s product direction," Takahouse said, signaling that the studio will build future games around the same player-to-player engagement model that shaped WhistGame.
The investment marks a strategic inflection point for Takahouse. Rather than treating WhistGame as a single success, the startup is using the title and its 140,000-plus audience as a laboratory for player behaviour, retention analysis and product design. That insight is intended to inform a series of new mobile releases aimed at regional audiences while strengthening the studio's core capabilities.
- Investor: Impact46 (Riyadh-based venture capital firm)
- Founder: Salman S Nasser
- Funding: $1.5 million
- Flagship title: WhistGame (launched 2021; >140,000 users)
- Founded: 2018
Takahouse develops and publishes mobile games "centred on social interaction," a positioning that the company says will remain central as it expands. Company statements highlight that the performance metrics and engagement patterns from WhistGame are already shaping design choices, retention strategies and monetisation approaches for upcoming titles.
Impact46’s backing adds to the momentum of Saudi capital flowing into locally developed gaming and digital entertainment firms. For Takahouse, the immediate priorities identified by the startup are clear: strengthen product development, improve existing capabilities and build a broader slate of games without abandoning the socially driven model that established WhistGame.
"The funding represents more than capital for another game," the company noted, describing the round as a vehicle to convert lessons learned from its first product into a scalable development strategy. That approach aims to reduce the business risk of relying on a single title by layering new releases onto an existing player base and data-driven understanding of engagement.
Operationally, the $1.5 million will support both the creation of new products and improvements to Takahouse’s current development pipeline. By retaining social interaction as a design pillar, Takahouse plans to iterate on the WhistGame model and adapt features that have shown strong retention and engagement with its 140,000 users.
Looking ahead, the company faces the challenge of translating a single-title audience into a multi-title ecosystem. With Impact46’s capital and a sizeable user base to study, Takahouse is positioned to test whether its social-first formula can generate repeatable success across regional mobile titles and establish a more diversified revenue mix for the studio.
