Saviynt Appoints Cybersecurity Veteran Kamel Heus as VP Sales : TechMoran

Saviynt has appointed cybersecurity veteran Kamel Heus as Vice President of Sales for the Middle East and Africa (MEA), tasking him with accelerating the company’s growth across the region from his base in Dubai. Heus will lead Saviynt’s business across MEA — including Turkey — with responsibility for driving new business, renewals, customer expansion, expanding the partner ecosystem and building a local go-to-market team, the company said.

“The Middle East and Africa have become one of the fastest-growing cybersecurity markets in the world, and Identity sits right at the center of it, especially as AI agents enter the enterprise,” said Kamel Heus, Vice President of Sales, MEA, Saviynt.

Pete Angstadt, Chief Commercial Officer at Saviynt, welcomed the hire and framed it as a long-term regional investment: “Kamel’s deep experience in the region and understanding of its customers, markets and partner ecosystem will be invaluable as we continue to expand our presence. We’re making a long-term investment in MEA, and his appointment is an important step in bringing Saviynt closer to our customers and partners as we help accelerate their AI journey securely.”

Background and mandate

Heus brings two decades of enterprise cybersecurity sales leadership across the Middle East, Africa and Europe. His senior leadership roles include positions at Thales, Centrify (now Delinea) and Sophos. Immediately prior to joining Saviynt, he served as Vice President, EMEA at Thales, where he led the company’s Identity and Access Management business across the region.

Heus holds a PhD in Applied Mathematics and Computing from Université Grenoble Alpes in France and has been based in Dubai for more than ten years. At Saviynt, his remit covers both organic account growth and channel development, with a specific focus on expanding local capabilities to meet in-region delivery and data residency requirements.

Product focus: identity and AI agents

A key element of Heus’ role will be to help customers address a rising category of identity risk posed by AI agents. As organisations deploy AI agents that access applications and data, these non-human identities require discovery, governance and lifecycle controls similar to those applied to human users. Saviynt’s Zuma platform is positioned to give organisations visibility into AI identities and to enforce least-privilege access across their lifecycle.

  • Sectors targeted include government, banking and financial services, utilities, healthcare, oil and gas, and retail.
  • Regional focus includes deepening presence across MEA and expanding into Saudi Arabia.
  • Operational priorities include building local hosting capabilities and meeting data residency demands.

Outlook

With Heus at the helm of MEA sales, Saviynt aims to convert momentum in identity security into deeper regional engagements, partner-led expansion and tailored deployments that address both cloud transformation and AI-driven risks. The company’s strategy places identity governance and the emerging need to secure agentic AI identities at the center of enterprise cyber defence, while operational moves such as local hosting and Saudi market entry signal a push to align product delivery with regional regulatory and commercial requirements.
