Saudi Sports for All Federation Launches '10 Billion Steps' Initiative
The Saudi Sports for All Federation (SFA) launched a nationwide '10 Billion Steps' campaign running July–December 2026 that invites residents to collectively log 10 billion steps via the SFA app to promote everyday physical activity and support Saudi Vision 2030.

The Saudi Sports for All Federation (SFA) has launched the "10 Billion Steps" initiative, a nationwide campaign running from July to December 2026 that invites residents across the Kingdom to collectively record 10 billion steps. The campaign — available through the SFA app — allows users to join, track daily steps, monitor progress and participate in a series of challenges as part of an effort to promote healthy lifestyles and support the goals of Saudi Vision 2030.
"The 10 Billion Steps initiative represents an open invitation to every individual in the Kingdom to be part of a shared national goal," said SFA President Prince Khaled bin Alwaleed bin Talal. "We believe that building a healthier, more vibrant society begins with simple steps taken every day. Through this initiative, we aim to make physical activity more accessible and transform daily movement into a sustainable habit that enhances quality of life and supports the goals of Saudi Vision 2030."
The SFA frames the initiative under the slogan "Don't Count Your Steps... Let Them Count,” promoting a shift in how physical activity is perceived: away from scheduled workouts and exclusive venues toward everyday movement as meaningful contribution. SFA Managing Director Shaima Saleh Al-Husseini highlighted the digital-first approach and the initiative's intention to make activity measurable and motivating. "The 10 Billion Steps initiative shows that every beginning can be simple, and that physical activity is already part of our daily lives more than we realize," Al-Husseini said. "Every step we take at work, at school, at home, or elsewhere can contribute to achieving a shared national goal and help build healthier, more sustainable habits. Our message to everyone is clear: ‘Your steps count.’"
Program details and mechanics
- Duration: July–December 2026.
- Platform: SFA app — users can join the initiative, track daily steps, monitor personal and collective progress, and take part in challenges.
- Goal: Record 10 billion steps collectively during the campaign period.
- Slogan: "Don't Count Your Steps... Let Them Count.”
- Phased rollout: launch, engagement, expansion, and celebration phases to sustain participation and publicize milestones.
The federation intends to reach different segments of society by combining digital engagement with partnerships and community-level activation. By framing ordinary movement — walking to work, moving around at home, or steps taken at school — as contributions toward a national target, the SFA aims to lower barriers to participation and demonstrate the power of cumulative action.
Officials emphasized that the initiative is not limited to athletic or fitness enthusiasts. Instead, it is presented as an inclusive public-health measure intended to embed regular physical activity into daily life, supporting broader national objectives tied to health and wellbeing. The initiative’s use of the SFA app is central: it creates measurable incentives and visible progress tracking, which SFA leaders say will help sustain engagement through the six-month campaign.
Outlook
- The SFA expects the campaign to catalyze a broad national movement, turning individual daily habits into a collective health outcome.
- Success metrics will focus on step totals logged through the app, participation rates, and the adoption of sustained activity patterns beyond December 2026.
- Planned follow-ups include expansion phases and celebratory events to recognize milestones and encourage continued momentum toward improving population health in line with Saudi Vision 2030.
