Egypt’s Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA) has launched a revamped version of “Egypt Innovate”, described as the country’s first fully integrated national platform for innovation and entrepreneurship. Developed and operated by a consortium led by Entlaq in partnership with Robusta and Kamelizer, the platform emerged from a pilot phase that ITIDA says produced a broad digital base now hosting 780 entities, 3,731 pieces of content and more than 81,536 registered entrepreneurs, innovators and ecosystem supporters, alongside a network of over 20 specialised experts.
"Represents a strategic step reflecting Egypt’s direction toward building a knowledge- and innovation-based economy," ITIDA said, calling the platform the "digital backbone of Egypt’s innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem."
Context and capabilities
ITIDA positions Egypt Innovate as a unified digital meeting point that connects government policies with startups, investors, universities and the research community. During its pilot phase, the alliance responsible for operating and developing the platform focused on aggregating diverse ecosystem actors — startups, investors, business incubators and research centres — and curating sector news, opportunities and specialist articles.
The platform emphasises data- and AI-driven services designed to streamline discovery, matchmaking and capacity building for founders and investors. Key capabilities highlighted by the operator include advanced analytics and user-facing tools to improve visibility, support decision-making and reduce friction in accessing investment and support services.
Platform features
- AI-powered smart assistant to guide entrepreneurs through services and opportunities.
- Interactive data map with filtering by sector, technology domain and geographic location to explore startups, investors, incubators and research centres.
- Digital startup gallery enabling companies to showcase products, profiles and investment decks for direct engagement with investors and partners.
- Intelligent data-driven matching tools that connect startups with investors using advanced analytics, designed to reduce funding gaps and accelerate investment decisions.
- Integrated learning and development hub offering specialised training content, mentorship programmes, innovation tools and virtual simulation experiences for venture building.
- Talent-matching platform to support recruitment, talent mobility and retention within the Egyptian market.
- Dedicated media and news centre, a unified portal for national and international challenges and competitions, and an innovation marketplace linking researchers, innovators and patent holders with industrial and investment stakeholders.
Operating under an Open Data model, Egypt Innovate provides public access to verified information to facilitate connections among investors, entrepreneurs and support entities and to foster transparency across the ecosystem.
ITIDA says the platform is intended to contribute to the development of Egypt’s innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem and to enhance the competitiveness of the Egyptian economy regionally and internationally. With its mix of curated content, expert networks and AI-driven tools, the revamped Egypt Innovate aims to serve as a single digital backbone for policymakers, founders, investors and research institutions seeking to scale collaboration and investment across Egypt’s innovation landscape.
