pQCee Raises US$3.9 Million in Latest Seed Funding Round

Singapore-based quantum-safe cybersecurity company pQCee has raised US$3.9 million in a seed funding round co-led by SGInnovate and Lotus One Investment to accelerate global expansion and product development. The round included participation from In Group Holdings, Wavemaker Partners, SUTD Ventures Holdings and Apsara Investments. This is pQCee’s second institutional financing round following a US$2.8 million raise in 2022.

“This funding enables us to accelerate our mission of making quantum‑safe security easy to deploy and hard to break. As global regulations tighten and the threat landscape evolves, organisations need practical, interoperable solutions they can adopt today. We are grateful for the trust of our investors and partners as we scale our team and expand globally,” said Dr Teik Guan Tan, CEO of pQCee.

Products, standards and partners

pQCee develops a portfolio of crypto‑agile technologies designed to protect enterprises against “harvest-now-decrypt-later” attacks that could be enabled by future quantum computers. Its flagship products include:

  • SafeQuard — an end-to-end encryption platform aimed at neutralising harvest-now-decrypt-later threats;
  • QKDLite — key management middleware that adheres to standards such as PKCS#11, ETSI QKD 014 and FIPS 203;
  • inoQulate — tooling for post-quantum PKI certificates;
  • QuICScript — a browser-accessible 20-qubit quantum simulator for hands-on experimentation.

pQCee says these solutions are already used by critical national infrastructure providers, government agencies and financial institutions. The company has formed integrations and partnerships with a range of security and technology firms, including Thales, Microsoft, PQShield, Feitian, Netrust and SendQuick, to facilitate enterprise adoption and hardware-backed deployments.

Investor rationale and market timing

Investors framed the round around the inevitability of quantum-related risks and the need to act ahead of regulatory mandates. Hsien-Hui Tong, Executive Director – Investments at SGInnovate, said: “As Q-day rapidly approaches due to advances not just in quantum but also in AI and materials, companies and governments are becoming more aware of the threat this poses to existing systems. We see pQCee playing a role in providing a solution to this problem, and are delighted to continue supporting Dr Tan and his team as they scale their solution to the global stage.”

Nirmal Singh, Chairman of Lotus One Investment, added: “The best infrastructure companies solve problems before the market fully recognizes them. Quantum-safe security is one of those rare opportunities. By the time quantum risk becomes everyone’s priority, the category leaders will already be built.” Paul Santos, Co-founder and Managing Partner at Wavemaker Partners, also highlighted regulatory pressure and enterprise demand: “Today’s encryption methods will no longer be secure in a post-quantum era, making investment in quantum-safe solutions a necessity, not an option... As regulations globally mandate critical systems to complete PQC migration by as early as 2030, we believe pQCee... is well-positioned to capture early demand.”

Outlook and use of proceeds

pQCee said the fresh capital will be used to expand its Singapore team, deepen its presence across Asia and accelerate entry into the United States, Europe and the Middle East. The company intends to scale hiring to meet growing global demand for quantum-resilient security infrastructure and to push further enterprise deployments through its existing partner ecosystem.
