Oro raises $3M to build AI agents that turn plain-language prompts into onchain transactions
Dubai-based fintech Oro raised $3M in a strategic round to build AI agents that convert plain-language prompts into multi-step onchain transactions, bringing its total funding to $4M while serving 350,000+ users.

Dubai-based fintech startup Oro has raised $3 million in a strategic funding round to develop AI agents that translate plain-language requests into multi-step onchain transactions, enabling simpler interactions with decentralized finance while keeping users in control of their wallets. The round was co-led by MH Ventures and Mapleblock Capital, with participation from M2M Capital, Archer Capital and X21 Digital; existing backers Disrupt.com and ZIG Labs provided follow-on support. The new financing brings Oro’s total funding to $4 million and comes as the company reports more than 350,000 active users and support for over 80 languages.
“Over the past 18 months, the Web3 landscape went through a market filter where projects without genuine utility quietly disappeared, but Oro thrived by proving that combining financial infrastructure with natural-language AI creates a product that mass-market users actually want,” Oro co-founder and CEO Varun Choudhary said. “We are witnessing a monumental shift toward intent-based execution. This funding round proves that real, sustainable product-market fit backed by hundreds of thousands of active users will always attract top-tier institutional capital, giving us the exact runway needed to consolidate our first-mover advantage globally.”
How Oro works
Oro’s product layer accepts everyday-language instructions — for example, “stake X to earn yield” or “shift my position into a stable vault” — and constructs the necessary route of one or more onchain transactions across protocols to achieve the requested outcome. Crucially, Oro does not custody user assets: transactions still require approval and signatures through users’ own wallets, maintaining non-custodial control even as AI moves from answering questions to proposing and orchestrating financial actions.
The company lists several mainnet integrations that give its agents access to lending, staking and trading primitives, including Aave, Uniswap, Lido, Morpho, Kamino and Raydium. Oro says its stack includes proprietary components such as a Shield Engine and natural-language execution technology that underpin its intent-routing capabilities.
Use of funds and roadmap
- Primary allocation to AI and agent research and refinement of the Shield Engine and execution tech.
- Regulatory and compliance work to support broader market expansion.
- Hiring, marketing and enterprise integrations aimed at B2B adoption.
- Product roadmap items include native iOS and Android apps and additional protocol integrations.
Oro has set an ambitious growth target: reaching 10 million active users within the next six to 12 months. The company also plans a stronger push into B2B infrastructure, offering third-party platforms the ability to use Oro as an intent-routing layer.
Outlook and challenges
Moving from 350,000 to 10 million users will be a steep climb that depends on more than capital. The central question is whether natural-language AI can remove enough of DeFi’s technical friction to attract users who are uninterested in the underlying mechanics. If successful, Oro’s model could change user interfaces for onchain finance from dashboards and manual flows to conversational, intent-driven interactions: tell an AI what you want, review the proposed steps, and sign the transactions yourself. The coming months will test both the product’s scalability and the market’s appetite for AI-driven, non-custodial DeFi tooling.
