Moroccan Legaltech Charikaty Raises Pre-Seed Round at €3 Million Valuation
Casablanca-based legaltech Charikaty closed a pre-seed round valuing the company at €3 million to expand accounting/compliance offerings and launch two ventures including Webaty for websites.

Casablanca – Moroccan legaltech Charikaty has closed a pre-seed round that values the company at €3 million (MAD 32.6 million). The financing brings together Gulf-based and regional backers including Dubai-based Red Tape Ventures, Faris Al-Obaid (Vice President and General Manager of Mastercard Kuwait), and Faris Abdi (Saudi professional footballer at Al-Ittihad), alongside other undisclosed investors. The capital will be used to launch two new ventures, expand Charikaty’s accounting and compliance offerings, and take its accounting business beyond Morocco into Egypt and the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC).
“Company creation gave us a very clear place to start, but it also gave us a front-row view of what entrepreneurs need next. The ambition now is larger than the incorporation itself. We want to build around the lifecycle of the company,” said Amr Mouaqit, Charikaty’s CEO.
From incorporation to lifecycle services
Charikaty was founded by CEO Amr Mouaqit and COO Driss Sijelmassi and initially focused on digitising company incorporation. The platform allows entrepreneurs to form SARL, SARL AU, SAS or foreign subsidiaries fully online with a legalised electronic signature and fixed upfront pricing. The filing process can take as little as three days, the company says. Charikaty also covers statutory modifications, domiciliation, accounting packs, trademark filing and dissolution, while providing a client portal with real-time tracking and a named jurist on every file.
The company has developed a dedicated diaspora channel to serve Moroccans living in more than 100 countries, enabling founders abroad to incorporate without travel, proxies or consular appointments. That diaspora focus was cited as a practical benefit that differentiates Charikaty’s onboarding of early-stage founders.
Product expansion and market timing
Charikaty will use the new funds to accelerate two ventures. Webaty, one of the first expressions of the broader strategy, launched in September and addresses the common need for an online presence after incorporation. “The starting point is the profession, but the real question is what the business needs the website to achieve,” said Driss Sijelmassi. Webaty uses profession-specific playbooks across more than 16 verticals — including e-commerce, construction, consulting, restaurants and short-term rental — and can deliver a first version within 72 hours once content is ready.
The second venture, focused on accounting and compliance, is slated to launch later in September. It will be built around Morocco’s accounting and tax framework and the country’s incoming electronic invoicing mandate, which will require businesses to issue and report invoices electronically to tax authorities. Charikaty argues that the shift toward e-invoicing and online tax administration across the region — with mandates already in effect in Egypt and Saudi Arabia — creates demand for adaptable local software.
- Valuation: €3 million (MAD 32.6 million)
- Investors named: Red Tape Ventures, Faris Al-Obaid, Faris Abdi
- Incorporation types supported: SARL, SARL AU, SAS, foreign subsidiary
- Speed metrics: filings in as little as 3 days; Webaty first versions in 72 hours
- Market signal: 50,300 companies created electronically since rollout; electronic creation was 44% of total in 2026
Outlook
The pre-seed injection is intended to convert Charikaty’s early access to entrepreneurs at incorporation into longer-term commercial relationships across the company lifecycle. Mouaqit and Sijelmassi see Morocco as a proving ground for accounting and compliance software that can be adapted for Egypt and GCC markets. The participation of Gulf investors links the startup’s immediate Moroccan operations with the regional expansion roadmap, where electronic invoicing and online tax administration are driving demand for locally compliant solutions.
