Mohammed A. Mulla joins GCEX Dubai as a Board Member
Mohammed A. Mulla has joined GC Exchange FZE (GCEX Dubai) as a board member after a 16-year tenure at Finalto (formerly CFH), bringing regional capital-markets experience and having launched Noor Clearing in 2019.

Mohammed A. Mulla has been appointed as a board member of GC Exchange FZE, the Dubai-based entity of digital prime broker GCEX, the firm announced on July 17, 2026. Mulla joins the Virtual Asset Service Provider (VASP) regulated by the Dubai Virtual Assets Regulatory Authority (VARA) and authorised as a broker-dealer, bringing a 16-year track record at Finalto (formerly CFH) where he served as founding Vice President for MENA and Asia and contributed circa $2 trillion in STP trading volumes.
“Having worked with Mohammed since the inception of CFH for almost a decade and having followed his career ever since, he brings significant regional acumen, an impressive track record and an exceptionally strong network,” said Lars Holst, Founder and CEO of GCEX. “I am thrilled to have him join our team to help us capitalise on the growth opportunities regionally and globally.”
Context and career highlights
Mulla’s appointment follows his recent departure from Finalto. At Finalto, he conceived and launched Noor Clearing in 2019, a strategic partnership with Noor Capital PSC created as Noor transitioned from landmark regulation with the UAE Central Bank to the Securities and Commodities Authority (SCA). His career began in capital markets in 2007 as a sales associate (EMEA) at ODL Securities in the UK, after an earlier role as an auditor at Ernst & Young in Saudi Arabia.
- Tenure at Finalto: 16 years, with circa $2 trillion in STP trading volumes attributed to his contributions.
- Noor Clearing: Launched in 2019 as a joint initiative between Finalto and Noor Capital PSC during the latter’s regulatory transition.
- Early roles: Sales Associate (EMEA) at ODL Securities from 2007; prior auditor role at Ernst & Young in Saudi Arabia.
- Education and qualifications: MSc in International Finance from Westminster Business School, London, and certificates in Securities and Regulations from the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investments (CISI).
In his statement, Mulla described the move as “an exciting career move” and praised GCEX’s principles and team. “Lars is a visionary and has built GCEX’s crypto offering around principles that I strongly believe in: STP access to Tier 1 liquidity, no conflict of interest with clients, and a commitment to building long-term mutually beneficial client relationships,” he said. Mulla added that he was particularly pleased to rejoin several former colleagues from CFH who have joined GCEX.

Its XplorDigital suite — including the XplorDigital App, plug-and-play ‘Crypto in a Box’ and ‘Broker in a Box’ solutions — targets custody, staking, liquidity connectivity, risk management and regulatory compliance.
- Regulatory licences: FCA-regulated in the UK; authorised by the Danish Financial Supervisory Authority (Finanstilsynet) as a Crypto-Asset Service Provider under MiCA and as a Currency Exchange; VARA VASP licence in Dubai.
- Notable approvals: One of the first firms to receive a VASP Operating Licence from VARA and the first to gain approval to operate with a client money account in that jurisdiction.

Outlook: Mulla’s arrival bolsters GCEX’s senior bench in the MENA region at a time when the company is emphasising regulated, market-access solutions for digital assets and tokenised real-world assets. With his regional relationships, deep capital markets experience and prior track record launching Noor Clearing, he is positioned to support GCEX’s push to expand client adoption, strengthen institutional liquidity provision and accelerate the firm’s planned growth across the Gulf and broader APAC markets.
