Kuwait approves award of oilfield water separation deal

Kuwait’s Supreme Purchasing Committee for Kuwait Petroleum Corporation (KPC) has approved the award of a new contract to construct water separation and pumping facilities at the Northern Rawdatain field, part of a long-term programme to expand crude output capacity. The Kuwait Oil Company (KOC) requested the award for a water separation facility at Gathering Centre 25 (GC 25) and a pumping facility at GC 30. The approved project covers two critical components of production infrastructure in the Northern Rawdatain field. The water separation facility at Gathering Centre 25 will remove produced water from the crude stream before onward processing and export, while the pumping facility at Gathering Centre 30 will boost throughput and transport capacity from that sector of the field. The decision follows a KOC request to the Supreme Purchasing Committee of KPC after a competitive bid process.
