Khalifa Fund launches second edition of ‘Prompt Engineering’ programme for members of Abu Dhabi Chamber Al Ain

The Khalifa Fund for Enterprise Development (KFED) has launched the second edition of its “Prompt Engineering” programme for members of the Abu Dhabi Chamber in Al Ain, aiming to equip entrepreneurs with practical AI skills to rapidly develop and validate business ideas. The intensive, hands-on programme trains participants to design effective prompts, adopt AI tools across product development, and apply the “Lean AI Canvas” methodology to build prototypes and go-to-market kits without prior coding experience.

“Prompt engineering is the new coding,” KFED said, encapsulating the programme’s premise that mastery of AI prompting can substitute for traditional development skills in many early-stage innovation tasks.

The renewed initiative forms part of KFED’s ongoing efforts to prepare entrepreneurs for the digital economy by focusing on future-ready capabilities. The curriculum emphasises current AI trends and practical application, enabling participants to transform concepts into actionable business models. Key outcomes for participants include developing a project prototype and preparing a go-to-market kit intended to accelerate project development and readiness for market launch.

Programme design and practical focus

  • The programme delivers immersive, hands-on training designed to guide entrepreneurs from ideation to prototype using AI-driven workflows.
  • Participants are introduced to the “Lean AI Canvas” methodology, a variant of lean startup tools adapted to integrate AI capabilities into business-model design and validation.
  • No prior coding experience is required; the training emphasises prompt design, AI tool utilisation, and feasibility validation.
  • Graduates are expected to leave with a tangible prototype and a go-to-market kit to support early-stage commercialisation.

KFED framed the second edition as a continuation of its mandate to empower small and medium enterprises and startups with the competencies needed to leverage artificial intelligence in project development. The programme’s construction around prompt engineering reflects a broader pedagogical shift: teaching designers, founders, and operators how to coax value from AI models through carefully crafted inputs and workflows rather than focusing solely on algorithmic development.

Organisers highlighted the strategic importance of partnerships between national institutions in boosting the region’s entrepreneurial ecosystem. By targeting chamber members in Al Ain, the programme seeks to broaden local access to AI skills, positioning participating entrepreneurs to develop competitive projects aligned with evolving market demands.

Outlook

KFED’s second intake of the Prompt Engineering programme signals an intent to scale practical AI adoption among non-technical founders and SMEs in the UAE. With participants expected to complete prototypes and go-to-market kits, the initiative aims to shorten the route from idea to deployable product. As the programme continues, its success will likely be measured by how many participating teams progress from prototype to market and how effectively they integrate prompt-driven AI workflows into viable business models.
