Jordan is promoting Petra, Dead Sea wellness, Wadi Rum and coastal attractions at SATTE 2026 in New Delhi, while the Jordan Tourism Board and Royal Jordanian push new air links and joint marketing to grow arrivals from India.

Jordan is intensifying efforts to capture a larger share of India’s expanding outbound travel market at the South Asia Travel & Tourism Exchange (SATTE) 2026 in New Delhi, showcasing Petra, Dead Sea wellness, Wadi Rum desert experiences and new air links. The Jordan Tourism Board has set up a national pavilion at the Yashobhoomi Convention Centre and is leading a delegation of hotels, destination management companies and tourism service providers, with Royal Jordanian taking part to advance connectivity talks.

"More than forty-eight thousand Indian travelers visited Jordan last year."

Exhibition push and strategic outreach

The appearance at SATTE reflects a strategic push to raise Jordan’s profile among Indian travellers and travel trade partners. The Jordan Tourism Board’s delegation is engaging Indian tour operators and travel companies to develop joint marketing campaigns and package arrangements that combine Jordan’s cultural, adventure and wellness offers.

  • Venue and presence: Jordan’s national pavilion at the Yashobhoomi Convention Centre brings together tourism boards, airlines and travel companies from around the world.
  • Participants: The delegation includes representatives from hotels, destination management companies and tourism service providers; Royal Jordanian is participating to strengthen connectivity discussions.
  • Market data: Government tourism data from the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities shows a strong rebound in 2025, with air arrivals from India rising sharply in the final months of the year and December 2025 recording one of the strongest performances.

Product highlights on show

Jordan’s stand focuses on experiences that marry ancient history, natural wonders and luxury hospitality. Key attractions promoted to the Indian market include:

  • Petra – the UNESCO World Heritage Site famed for the Siq canyon approach and the rose‑colored Treasury carved into Nabataean rock.
  • Wadi Rum – the red sand dunes and rock formations promoted for jeep safaris, desert camping, stargazing and authentic Bedouin cultural experiences.
  • The Dead Sea – positioned for wellness tourism, with government-supported platforms highlighting that "the Dead Sea’s mineral composition and climate create a natural wellness environment."
  • Aqaba and coastal tourism – the Red Sea gateway promoted for coral reefs, diving and beachfront resorts.
  • Heritage sites such as Jerash, where Roman colonnaded streets and amphitheatres contribute to cultural itineraries.

Officials and industry partners at SATTE are promoting integrated itineraries that combine Petra’s archaeology, Dead Sea relaxation and Wadi Rum adventures, as well as specialised packages for luxury travel and destination weddings.

Outlook: connectivity and conversion

Air connectivity is central to Jordan’s plan to convert interest into arrivals. Royal Jordanian currently operates direct services between Jordan and Mumbai and is preparing to launch a direct route linking Amman and New Delhi to shorten travel time and simplify access for Indian tourists. Tourism authorities view improved flights as critical to sustaining the momentum generated in 2025 and to supporting both leisure and business travel between the two countries.

With the Jordan Tourism Board coordinating marketing and partnership talks at SATTE, officials aim to build on recent growth and further establish Jordan as a multi‑experience destination for Indian travellers seeking culture, adventure and wellness.
