Invest Qatar Gateway introduces new feature, connecting startups to venture capital funds
Invest Qatar launched a Venture Capital (VC) Funding Module on the Invest Qatar Gateway in collaboration with Qatar Investment Authority (QIA) to centralise VC discovery, streamline applications and connect startups directly with QIA-backed funds and other participating managers.

Invest Qatar today unveiled a Venture Capital (VC) Funding Module on the Invest Qatar Gateway, a new platform feature developed in collaboration with Qatar Investment Authority (QIA) to streamline startups’ access to institutional capital. The module consolidates VC discovery and application processes for Invest Qatar Gateway members, allowing founders to view investment focus areas and eligibility, access value-added services, and submit pitches directly to fund managers. Many participating funds are backed by QIA through its $3 billion Fund of Funds programme.
“The VC Funding Module is the latest addition to the Invest Qatar Gateway, a platform we have built deliberately to streamline and simplify every stage of a founder's journey,” said Dr. Hamad Rashid Al-Naimi, Chief Strategy Officer at Invest Qatar. “By bringing QIA-backed funds together on a single, transparent platform, we offer startups something rare in emerging ecosystems: a clear, direct path from idea to institutional capital, with access to the networks, expertise and resources needed to scale and succeed globally.”
Platform features and participating partners
The new module is accessible to all Invest Qatar Gateway members and centralises fundraising resources to enhance efficiency, transparency and accessibility across the fundraising journey. Startups can explore each participating fund’s investment focus and eligibility criteria, review value-added support programmes, and submit formal pitch materials to fund managers through the interface.
In its initial phase the module includes a growing network of participating funds and ecosystem partners. Named participants at launch include a mix of regional and international managers, several explicitly noted as QIA-backed:
- Tech Venture Fund by Qatar Science & Technology Park (QSTP)
- A-Typical Ventures
- B Capital
- Builders VC MENA
- Deerfield
- The Utopia Studio
- Founders Circle Capital
- Greycroft
- Human Capital
- Ion Pacific
- Liberty City Ventures
- Rasmal Ventures
- Shorooq
- Speedinvest
- The Radical Fund
Haya Al Ghanim, Director of Qatar Funds at QIA, framed the module as a step toward greater visibility and connectivity for entrepreneurs. “As Qatar’s venture capital ecosystem continues to evolve, this module will provide entrepreneurs with a centralised platform that enables them to have greater visibility of the opportunities available, and clearer pathways to connect with the relevant fund managers,” she said. “This module supports our shared mission of establishing Qatar as a leading destination for innovation and entrepreneurship.”
Outlook
Invest Qatar and QIA position the VC Funding Module as an infrastructural boost for the country’s entrepreneurship ecosystem, aiming to reduce friction in early-stage funding and link founders directly with institutional investors backed by the $3 billion Fund of Funds. Startups interested in engaging with the module are directed to register on the Invest Qatar Gateway, where they can assess participating funds, understand investment criteria and submit pitches to fund managers. The initiative is expected to expand its network of funds and ecosystem partners in subsequent phases as more managers and support programmes are onboarded.
