'Inspire Oman' launched in Muscat to showcase investment success stories

Inspire Oman, developed by MeFriend with backing from the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI), launched in Muscat to showcase Oman's investment success stories through a commemorative publication, a digital campaign and an investors summit. The initiative features participation from business leaders including Noushad Rahman (PGS Group) and Ibrahim Abdulrahim (Altai Group).

The “Inspire Oman” initiative was launched in Muscat at a press conference held at the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI) headquarters, aiming to showcase Oman’s economic and social development success stories and bolster investor confidence. Developed by MeFriend with the support of OCCI, the project will roll out a commemorative publication, a digital campaign and an investors summit targeting policymakers, business experts and investors from Oman, India and other countries.

"The initiative is expected to make a significant contribution to attracting more investment to Oman and supporting the goals of Oman Vision 2040," said Sheikh Faisal bin Abdullah Al Rawas, Chairman of the Board of Directors of OCCI. "Presenting such success stories would help strengthen Oman’s economic standing and boost investor confidence in the country’s business environment."

Details of the initiative and participating figures

The project, announced at OCCI’s headquarters, was presented by MeFriend and backed by senior chamber officials. Abdul Latheef Moideen Kunhi, OCCI board member and Chairman of the Foreign Investment Committee, described the initiative’s remit: "the initiative aims to present a comprehensive picture of Oman’s investment climate to the world." Mohammed Saleem Ambalan, Director of MeFriend, added that "the project also seeks to pass on the lessons, expertise and inspiring experiences behind Oman’s achievements in various economic sectors to future generations."

Attendees at the launch included OCCI board member Sheikh Saud bin Ahmed Al Nahari and MeFriend Business Solutions Global Head Mohammed Rafeeq. During the event, Inspire Oman Premium Visionary Delegate invitations were presented to Noushad Rahman, founder and managing director of PGS Group, and Ibrahim Abdulrahim, founder and chairman of Altai Group of Companies.

First-phase activities and objectives

  • Commemorative edition: A printed and/or digital publication collecting Oman’s highlighted success stories across economic sectors.
  • Digital campaign: A regional and international outreach effort to promote Oman’s investment narratives and best-practice models.
  • Inspiring Oman Investors Summit: A convening of policymakers, investors and business experts from Oman, India and other markets to discuss opportunities and lessons learned.

Organisers framed the initiative as a vehicle to amplify Oman's standing internationally. At the press conference, Oman was described as "the second most trusted investment destination globally," a positioning organisers intend to reinforce through sustained storytelling and targeted engagement with investor communities.

Outlook

With OCCI leadership framing Inspire Oman as aligned with Oman Vision 2040, the initiative seeks to translate curated success stories into tangible investor interest and partnerships. The first phase—publication, campaign and summit—will be closely watched for its ability to attract delegations and capital, particularly from India and neighboring markets. The involvement of established business leaders such as Noushad Rahman and Ibrahim Abdulrahim, and the public backing of OCCI figures including Sheikh Faisal bin Abdullah Al Rawas and Abdul Latheef Moideen Kunhi, signal an intent to position the campaign as a coordinated public-private effort to raise Oman’s investment profile.
