IIT Bombay's Eureka! 2026: The Biggest Opportunity for All Startup Founders

IIT Bombay’s Entrepreneurship Cell (E-Cell) has opened registrations for Eureka! 2026, its 29th edition of Asia’s largest startup launchpad, offering early-stage founders months of mentoring, networking and investment opportunities, with incentives exceeding INR 2 crore and a registration deadline of 23 August 2026. The programme will involve three rounds spread over five months, engagement with more than 50 venture capital firms, 300+ mentors, and fully sponsored international pitch opportunities in the USA and Dubai for select teams.

"E-Cell is ready to host its flagship business model competition, Eureka!, back for its 29th year," organisers said, framing the event as a focused platform for ideation- and MVP-stage startups to develop go-to-market strategies and secure incubation and funding.

Eureka! 2026 positions itself as a comprehensive launchpad for founders. The competition structure mirrors last year’s scale — which saw over 43,000 entries — and begins with on-stage mentoring that teaches fundamentals such as building a business model canvas. Shortlisted teams then advance to a VC round of workshops designed to refine product-market fit and business models. Finalists will pitch at IIT Bombay’s E-Summit 2026 before a jury drawn from top venture investors and past ecosystem leaders.

Organisers highlight concrete pathways to acceleration and funding: winners and top teams will access incentives and partner support totalling more than INR 2 crore, plus incubation slots from leading incubators including SINE IIT Bombay, NSRCEL IIM Bangalore and Razorpay Rize. Participating investors in prior editions have included 100X, 3one4 Capital, IIMA Ventures and Ankur Capital, and the 2026 edition expects engagement from 50+ VCs.

  • Mentorship: 300+ mentors and on-stage mentoring sessions to build robust business models.
  • Investment: Interaction with 50+ venture capital firms and direct access to investor rounds.
  • Incubation: Opportunities from SINE IIT Bombay, NSRCEL IIM Bangalore, Razorpay Rize and others.
  • International exposure: Fully sponsored pitch opportunities in the USA and Dubai for select startups.
  • Corporate and platform support: Partnerships and incentives from NVIDIA, Razorpay Rize, CleverTap and AngelList India.

The initiative carries institutional backing from agencies and programmes that have supported E-Cell’s work over the years, including UNESCO, Make in India, Startup India and Digital India, and is presented with support from MeitY Startup Hub and various state startup missions. Past mentors highlighted in the programme’s archive include Kanchi Daiya of Indian Angel Network and Piyush Surana of Tomorrow Capital, reflecting the calibre of advisory access available to participants.

One notable non-financial offer is a pathway to a conversation with a general partner of Y Combinator: top startups will receive a direct interview opportunity for the next YC cohort, an uncommon bridge between India’s student-run entrepreneurship ecosystem and a leading global accelerator.

With registrations open through 23 August 2026, E-Cell is positioning Eureka! as a multi-month accelerator and competition that blends mentorship, investor access and international market exposure. Founders interested in applying can register via E-Cell’s published registration portal; organisers expect the programme to continue feeding incubators and investor pipelines across India and abroad as it enters its 29th year.
