Hub71 Expands Initiate Founder Programme After Attracting 5,500 Applications
Abu Dhabi’s Hub71 is expanding Initiate, its early-stage founder programme after receiving over 5,500 applications and running workshops for about 500 participants; Prism56, a studio-led AI platform from Fikra Ventures, is the first startup selected into the venture-building track.

Hub71, Abu Dhabi’s global tech ecosystem, is expanding Initiate — its early-stage founder programme — after it received more than 5,500 applications since launch. The programme has already selected a startup to enter a venture-building track and has opened its venture-builder network to new partners, while its workshop series drew roughly 500 aspiring founders across seven sessions in July and August focused on problem validation, customer discovery, venture-building and co-founder identification.
“Demand for early-stage support in Abu Dhabi is growing quickly. Every founder's journey starts with an idea, but turning that idea into a successful startup requires the right guidance at the right time. Through Initiate, we are giving aspiring entrepreneurs and early-stage founders access to experienced venture builders and a collaborative ecosystem that helps them validate ideas, build ventures and take their next steps with confidence.” — Mohammad Alkhoori, Head of Startup Journey and Communications, Hub71.
Programme details and immediate milestones
Initiate combines venture-builder expertise with practical founder development to support ideation and pre-seed founders as they validate ideas, develop business models and prepare ventures for commercial growth. Hub71 says the initiative has translated strong application demand into active participation: nearly 5,500 applicants and about 500 participants across seven workshops delivered by Hub71 partners.
Hub71 has also expanded the initiative’s venture-builder network by adding Disrupt.com and TMC2 MEA, broadening founders’ access to technical, commercial and investor expertise across additional sectors. The programme is positioned as a feeder into Hub71’s Access programme, creating a defined pathway from idea-stage support through to growth and market entry within the wider Hub71 ecosystem.
Selected startup and support package
Prism56, an AI-driven platform developed by Fikra Ventures to automate venture capital deal evaluation and investment committee workflows, is the first studio-led startup chosen to progress through Initiate. Prism56 has moved from concept to a minimum viable product and will now enter validation and pilot deployment with continued support from Fikra Ventures.
- Studio support and mentorship from Fikra Ventures.
- Licensing and office space support from Hub71 for one year.
- Access to Hub71’s ecosystem of more than 150 corporate, government and investment partners, service providers and founder community.
As a studio-led project, Prism56 will receive tailored venture-building resources aimed at accelerating its commercialisation and pilot deployments. The selection aligns with Abu Dhabi’s stated priority sectors and reflects a preference for solutions that leverage AI to streamline investor workflows.
Outlook
With Initiate attracting thousands of applicants and scaling its workshop footprint, Hub71 is positioning the programme as a frontline mechanism to nurture ideation-stage startups into investable ventures. The addition of Disrupt.com and TMC2 MEA to the venture-builder network widens the technical and commercial expertise available to founders, while the pathway into Hub71’s Access programme offers a clear next step for successful graduates.
Hub71’s expansion of Initiate — backed by strong application numbers, active workshop participation and an early studio-led selection in Prism56 — underscores the ecosystem’s focus on converting early-stage ideas into validated ventures capable of moving toward commercial pilots and investor readiness.
