Gyeonggi Content Agency Facilitates 9.5 Billion Won Investment for 9 Content Companies

The Gyeonggi Content Agency (GCA) facilitated 9.5 billion won in private-sector investments for nine content companies in Gyeonggi Province during the first half of 2026 and has committed an additional 10 million won in commercialization funding to each of the investment recipients. The initiative is part of a public-private partnership centered on Gyeonggi Level-Up Invest Partners (G-VIP), an alliance of specialized investment firms that discovered and recommended the companies that received funding.

"GCA aims to deliver international expansion results alongside global partners by broadening opportunities for local market validation, localization PoC, exports, and investment connections," the agency said, describing its objectives for the expanded G-VIP network.

GCA operates G-VIP together with Gyeonggi Province to identify, nurture and match promising content businesses with private investors. The agency invites partner firms to investment business-matching events and provides supported companies with investment and overseas expansion consulting, Proof of Concept (PoC) advisory linked with mid-sized and large enterprises, and direct investment cooperation using funds and linked financial resources. "GCA plans to vitalize private-sector company discovery and club deal collaboration through joint investments by multiple partner firms," the agency added.

First-half investments and commercialization support

  • Total private investment facilitated: 9.5 billion won for nine companies (first half of 2026).
  • Commercialization funding: 10 million won allocated to each of the nine investment-recipient companies.
  • GCA registration: On August 20, 2026, GCA completed its registration as a startup accelerator with the Ministry of Small and Medium Enterprises and Startups to bolster full-lifecycle growth support for content startups in the province.

The investments were made in companies recommended by G-VIP partners, and GCA said it plans to encourage joint investments and club deals among partner firms to scale private-sector discovery and collaboration. The agency also pursues direct investment cooperation using its own funds and linked financial resources to deepen support beyond matchmaking.

International expansion and partner growth

  • 2026 Gyeonggi Level‑Up Global Roadshow: Held September 16–18 in Tokyo, featuring demo days and investment consultation for companies targeting the Japanese market.
  • Participants: 14 content companies from Gyeonggi Province took part in the Tokyo demo day and local investment consultations.
  • Collaborating organizations for the roadshow: CNT Tech, Yoonmin Creative Investment Foundation, and the Jeju Center for Creative Economy & Innovation.
  • New G-VIP agreements: GCA signed business agreements with three Japanese firms—Seven Star Partners, Ignition Point Partners, and Artiz—bringing the cumulative number of G-VIP partner companies to 112.

Looking ahead, GCA intends to leverage its newly attained accelerator status and expanded G-VIP network to convert investment matchmaking into tangible international growth for local content startups. By increasing partner collaboration and staging overseas validation and localization PoCs, the agency aims to translate the 9.5 billion won in facilitated investment into sustained commercialization, export opportunities, and deeper private-sector funding flows for Gyeonggi-based content companies.
