General Assembly – Bahrain has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Ra’edat Software Company to deepen cooperation on technical skills development and to accelerate applied learning opportunities for Bahraini talent, with a special emphasis on women. The partnership establishes a long-term framework to develop digital skills, support innovation and connect graduates directly with private‑sector opportunities; General Assembly’s Bahrain programmes are supported by Tamkeen and include courses in software engineering, data analytics, user experience design and emerging technologies.
“This agreement represents a significant step in the collaboration between General Assembly and Ra’edat, reflecting our shared vision of building an environment that supports skill development and connects women talent with opportunities for growth and advancement,” said Ms. Ahlam Oun, Director of Middle East Academies at General Assembly. “We are proud that women constitute approximately 50% of the graduates from our programs.”
Collaboration scope and recent activities
The MoU formalises a series of joint initiatives already delivered by the two organisations and sets out plans for further applied projects, community outreach and employer engagement. Key elements outlined by the partners include:
- Applied student projects: Software engineering students from General Assembly participated in a practical project for Ra’edat, developing new features and functionalities for Ra’edat’s digital platform. Ra’edat’s management praised the work and is considering implementing several of the developed outputs.
- Specialised workshops and knowledge sessions: Joint events covered topics such as the use of LinkedIn for emerging leaders, the principles of generative AI, and the application of AI technologies in business development and marketing, alongside sessions on personal and professional skills aligned with market needs.
- Community and awareness initiatives: The partners will co‑organise campaigns and programmes to promote technological literacy and digital knowledge, with targeted efforts to highlight female entrepreneurs and showcase success stories of women in tech.
- Employer access and talent pipelines: The agreement is designed to strengthen communication between emerging women talent and the private sector by facilitating institutional access to qualified professionals ready to adapt to digital transformation demands.
“We are delighted to enter into this partnership with General Assembly, as it represents a genuine opportunity to enhance cooperation between the technology sector and institutions specializing in skills development,” said Mr. Ubaydli Ubaydli, CEO of Ra’edat. “Through our collaboration with General Assembly students, we have witnessed an exceptional level of creativity and the capacity to deliver practical solutions that meet business needs.”
Outlook
The MoU aligns with national objectives to strengthen Bahrain’s digital economy by building human capital that can meet evolving market needs. For General Assembly, the deal reinforces its applied, market‑driven approach to workforce development in the Kingdom; for Ra’edat, it expands a national platform aimed at empowering Bahraini women and equipping them with future skills. Both parties indicated plans to roll out further joint initiatives that combine hands‑on learning, industry collaboration and targeted campaigns to elevate female participation in technical fields and to prepare Bahraini talent to compete on local, regional and global levels.
