FTS Cleanrooms delivers turnkey cleanroom facility for Himalaya in UAE
FTS Cleanrooms delivered a 14,000 sqm turnkey cleanroom manufacturing facility for Himalaya in Dubai Internet City within one year, supporting co-located pharmaceutical and cosmetic production with separate ISO and contamination-control regimes.

FTS Cleanrooms has completed a 14,000-square-metre turnkey manufacturing facility for Himalaya in Dubai Internet City (DIC), delivering cleanroom infrastructure to support both pharmaceutical and cosmetic production on a single site. The project was completed in under a year using a single-contractor delivery model that encompassed design, construction, installation, commissioning and validation.
"For a facility of this size, we were impressed with how smoothly FTS Cleanrooms managed everything. Coordinating such a large project is never easy, but their team stayed organized and responsive and delivered on schedule. The execution met our expectations, and the overall experience was professional and hassle-free," said the project manager at Himalaya.
The facility was engineered to accommodate two distinct production streams that require separate contamination-control regimes and ISO classification standards. FTS Cleanrooms — a UAE-based company specialising in cleanroom design, manufacturing and validation — managed the project end-to-end using a single project team from initial design through final validation. The company said this continuity helped reduce coordination overhead and the risk of handover gaps that often occur when separate contractors handle design, installation and validation phases.
- Size: 14,000 square metres
- Location: Dubai Internet City (DIC), UAE
- Scope: Turnkey delivery covering design, construction, installation, commissioning and validation
- Timeline: Completed within one year
- End use: Co-located pharmaceutical and cosmetic manufacturing with separate ISO classification and contamination-control requirements
Large-scale cleanroom projects frequently split responsibilities among multiple firms — architecture and design houses, specialist installers, and third‑party validation teams — a model that can create additional coordination requirements and increase the risk of delays. By contrast, FTS Cleanrooms retained the same team throughout the Himalaya project, a strategy the company says maintained continuity and contributed to meeting the planned timeline of less than a year.
The dual-purpose facility required careful segregation of production environments, tailored equipment specifications and different validation protocols to satisfy regulatory and quality standards applicable to pharmaceuticals and cosmetics. Delivering both environments at the same campus demanded bespoke engineering of HVAC systems, airlocks, pressure cascades and material flow to ensure cross-contamination risks were minimised while preserving operational efficiency.
FTS Cleanrooms’ turnkey approach adds capacity to Dubai’s manufacturing and industrial infrastructure for sectors that depend on controlled production environments. For Himalaya, the new DIC facility consolidates manufacturing for two regulated product lines under one operational footprint while preserving the distinct contamination‑control and ISO requirements each product category demands.
Looking ahead, the completion positions Himalaya to ramp up local production in the UAE with a facility already validated for regulatory compliance across both pharmaceutical and cosmetic operations. For FTS Cleanrooms, the project demonstrates the viability of a single-contractor model for complex cleanroom builds and may inform how other large-scale controlled-environment projects are delivered in the region.
