Egyptian tech startup Simplex has inaugurated a new Computer Numerical Control (CNC) machinery manufacturing plant in 10th of Ramadan City following a $50 million investment, the company said in a press release. The new facility spans 40,000 square metres and marks the launch of a commercial production line carrying a "Proudly Made in Egypt" label. The expansion is expected to create more than 1,000 direct jobs and over 10,000 indirect employment opportunities.
“This celebration stands as a testament to what Egyptian youth can accomplish when given the opportunity and support. Simplex began as a graduation project and has evolved into an enterprise exporting to 34 countries, proving that Egyptian industrial innovation can compete on the global stage,” said Ahmed Shaaban, Founder and Chairman of Simplex.
The inauguration also included the laying of the foundation stone for Simplex’s third manufacturing plant, underlining the company’s multi-stage industrial growth plan. The event was attended by senior government officials, diplomats and representatives from Egypt’s financial and business communities.

Regional strategy and market reach
As part of its regional growth push, Simplex has signed new partnerships and agency agreements in Jordan and Kuwait to bolster distribution of Egyptian engineering products and industrial solutions across Arab markets. The company currently exports its products and solutions to 34 countries across Africa, Europe and the Middle East, with exports representing roughly 15% of total production. Management has indicated a target to increase that export share as production capacity expands and newly formed regional partnerships begin operations.
Outlook
With cumulative sales exceeding $100 million to date, the company’s leadership frames the new plant and planned third facility as key steps in scaling Simplex from a domestically focused manufacturer to a global CNC machinery supplier. The combination of increased production capacity, formalised regional partnerships and a strengthened workforce positions Simplex to pursue higher export penetration and to respond to growing regional demand for locally produced CNC equipment.
