Egypt offers 99 investment opportunities to local firms, receives 204 foreign applications
Egypt's Housing Ministry and the New Urban Communities Authority (NUCA) listed 99 domestic investment opportunities and received about 204 foreign applications in August 2026, while upgrading NUCA's digital investment platform to streamline investments in new cities.

Egypt’s Ministry of Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities is offering 99 investment opportunities to Egyptian companies via the New Urban Communities Authority’s (NUCA) Investor Services Portal, and received around 204 applications from foreign firms through its foreign investment platform during August 2026, ministry officials said. The opportunities are published on NUCA’s digital platforms from the 1st to the 15th of each month and are available in both local and foreign currencies.
"The offerings form part of the state's strategy to achieve sustainable urban development and increase private-sector participation in development projects, in line with the objectives of Egypt Vision 2030," Housing Minister Randa El‑Menshawy said, highlighting the role of new cities in driving economic growth.
Details of the offering
Walid Abbas, Deputy Minister of Housing for New Urban Communities, said the 99 opportunities listed on the Egyptian platform cover a broad range of site sizes and permitted uses. Parcels range from 500 square metres, targeting small and medium-sized projects, up to more than 39 feddans for large-scale developments. The opportunities are priced in Egyptian pounds and span more than 15 sectors including commercial, administrative, medical, educational, sports, entertainment, hospitality, tourism, logistics, service activities and mixed-use developments.
- Number of domestic opportunities: nearly 99 (as of 15 August)
- Foreign applications received: around 204 (during August 2026)
- Land size range: from 500 square metres to over 39 feddans
- Sector coverage: more than 15 sectors, including health, education, hospitality and logistics
- Geographic distribution: New Cairo, New Damietta, New Salhia, Obour, New Obour, Badr, 15th of May, New Qena and other new cities across Upper Egypt and the rest of the country
NUCA Vice President for Planning and Projects Ahmed Ibrahim said the authority is upgrading its digital investment platform as part of the ministry’s digital transformation push. The system digitises the entire investment process: announcing available opportunities, uploading maps, technical data and supporting documents, and enabling electronic submission and tracking of applications through evaluation, review and final decision-making.
Ibrahim noted that the digital platform aims to cut paper-based procedures, shorten processing times and improve service quality, while standardising investment procedures across new-city authorities and applying unified evaluation criteria. He also said NUCA keeps comprehensive digital records at each stage of the investment lifecycle.
Context and outlook
Officials framed the monthly offerings as a tool to maximise utilisation of state-owned assets and to expand private-sector participation in urban development, alongside continued government investment in infrastructure, roads, utilities and public services across newly planned cities. Many of the sites are positioned along major roads, regional highways and in high-density urban areas based on approved planning studies, with the stated aim of enhancing commercial viability.
With continued digital upgrades and standardisation of procedures, ministry officials expect the mix of domestic tenders and international interest to accelerate implementation of commercial, residential and mixed-use projects across Egypt’s new cities, supporting broader objectives under Egypt Vision 2030.
