Dubai Future District Fund grows to 30 investments after eight new 2025 commitments

Dubai Future District Fund (DFDF) announced eight new investment commitments during 2025, expanding its portfolio to 30 investments made up of 11 venture capital funds and 19 high‑growth startups. The new allocations comprise five investments in venture capital funds and three direct investments in startups, and the fund said it broadened exposure across priority future‑economy sectors with particular emphasis on PropTech and artificial intelligence.

"Dubai continues to strengthen its position as a global hub for innovation and venture capital through an integrated ecosystem that combines a future‑focused vision, progressive regulation, world‑class infrastructure, and the ability to attract the world's leading entrepreneurs, investors, innovators, and talent," said Khalfan Belhoul, Chief Executive Officer of Dubai Future Foundation and Chairman of the DFDF. "Dubai Future District Fund leverages these strengths to create strategic investment opportunities and long‑term partnerships, while connecting capital with government priorities to accelerate the delivery of the D33."

DFDF's 2025 Annual Report highlights that the five fund investments and three direct deals have reinforced the fund's orientation toward sectors underpinning Dubai's future economy. The fund strengthened its PropTech portfolio through investments in two specialised companies and two sector‑focused venture funds, underscoring a targeted strategy to channel capital into high‑impact verticals. Artificial intelligence was also singled out as a priority area alongside PropTech.

  • Total 2025 commitments: eight (five venture capital funds, three direct startup investments)
  • Portfolio after 2025: 30 investments (11 VC funds, 19 high‑growth startups)
  • Strategic sector focus: PropTech, artificial intelligence, HealthTech, LogisticsTech, DeepTech, Circular Economy, Web3
  • Founding and partners: established by Dubai Future Foundation and Dubai International Financial Centre

"During 2025, we made eight new investment commitments while sharpening our focus on the strategic sectors shaping Dubai's future economy," said Nader Albastaki, Managing Director of Dubai Future District Fund. "Looking ahead, we will continue diversifying our investment portfolio, strengthening our global partnerships, and launching new initiatives that build a stronger and more resilient venture capital ecosystem, enabling more founders to build globally competitive companies."

Throughout 2025 DFDF also expanded its role as an ecosystem enabler by forging strategic partnerships with international organisations, organising investment roadshows across major global innovation hubs, and launching initiatives to support startup growth and entrepreneurial capability. The fund highlighted increased mobilisation of regional and international capital and deeper public‑private collaboration, positioning the Dubai International Financial Centre as a gateway for capital flowing into Dubai's future‑economy sectors.

Looking to 2026, DFDF said it will advance its long‑term investment strategy aligned with the Dubai Economic Agenda (D33), with priorities that include launching a dedicated programme to support emerging fund managers by backing first‑ and second‑time fund managers. The aim is to strengthen the depth, diversity and long‑term resilience of the regional venture capital ecosystem while deepening collaboration with local and international partners to unlock new business and investment opportunities.

DFDF's stated investment remit covers multiple stages and technologies, with priorities spanning PropTech, HealthTech, LogisticsTech, DeepTech, Circular Economy technologies and Web3 — areas the fund sees as foundational to Dubai's economic transformation under the D33 agenda.
