Dubai attracts 14,600 applications for 23 places on global talent programme

Dubai Business Associates (DBA) has welcomed 23 emerging professionals from 15 countries to its 12th cohort, selected from a pool of 14,600 applications worldwide, underscoring the emirate’s continued international pull for talent development. The fully funded, nine-month programme combines training in strategy, business and leadership with placements, consulting projects and cultural immersion in Dubai.

"Dubai continues to attract ambitious people who want to be part of its growth and contribute to its future. The calibre and international diversity of this cohort reflect that appeal, while DBA gives them a unique opportunity to experience the city from within," said Simon Corkill, CEO of Falcon and Associates.

Programme design and participant profile

DBA’s 12th cohort brings together candidates from Canada, China, Colombia, France, Morocco, India, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, Kazakhstan, Malaysia, Nicaragua, Russia, the United Kingdom and the United States. The associates have academic backgrounds from globally recognised institutions including Cambridge, Oxford, Imperial College London, INSEAD, Tsinghua University, Peking University, Columbia, Princeton, Cornell and UCLA.

The cohort’s professional disciplines span engineering, cognitive neuroscience, public policy, international relations, finance, computer science and sustainability. DBA describes the intake as "a deliberately multidisciplinary group" intended to provide a mix of perspectives for placements and consulting work across Dubai’s public and private sectors.

Placements, partners and alumni network

Associates will engage directly with prominent organisations active in Dubai’s economy. Host partners named for the programme include Emirates Airline, Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC), Digital Dubai Authority, Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism, Dubai Future District Fund, Dubai Culture, Emirates NBD, Expo City Dubai, Oraseya Capital and Virtual Assets Regulatory Authority (VARA).

  • Duration: nine months, fully funded
  • Cohort size: 23 associates selected from 14,600 applicants
  • Geographic reach: 15 countries represented
  • Alumni: DBA has built a community of 350 alumni across its first 11 cohorts

Rami Tawfiq, Director of Dubai Business Associates, commented on the programme’s strategic intent: "Dubai Business Associates brings together talented people whose different perspectives reflect the international character of Dubai itself. By working on placements and consulting projects with organisations shaping the city's economy, the programme develops globally minded leaders while building enduring connections between Dubai and markets around the world."

Outlook

The selection rate — 23 places from 14,600 applications — highlights intense competition and the global demand for experiential development opportunities linked to Dubai’s institutions. DBA’s model of combining classroom-style training with on-the-ground placements is designed to accelerate careers by exposing associates to senior leadership and operational decision-making across sectors.

With a 350-strong alumni network established across its first 11 cohorts, DBA aims to sustain long-term connections between participants and Dubai’s business ecosystem. The programme’s mix of multinational participants and high-profile host organisations positions the new cohort to contribute to cross-border collaboration and to carry Dubai-linked professional experience into global markets following the nine-month placement cycle.
