DiiMO Technologies Represented El Salvador in The Startup World Cup Grand Final in San Francisco

DiiMO Technologies, a Salvadoran fintech founded by Juan David Hernández Bustamante, won the national Startup World Cup El Salvador on July 28, 2026, and will represent the country at the Global Finals in San Francisco where startups compete for a US$1 million investment. The company, which provides microloans and working capital advances via a mobile app for underserved small businesses and independent workers, secured a US$1.2 million Pre‑Series A round in 2023 combining debt and equity led by Endless Ventures and Aguila Investments.

"A Salvadoran fintech reaching the Startup World Cup global finals and competing for a US$1 million investment is a meaningful signal for an ecosystem that still needs more traction stories and greater international visibility to attract capital into Central America's Northern Triangle," said Jose Kont, Partner at Cuantico VP and Venture Partner at Impacta VC.

The local competition took place at the Hilton San Salvador Hotel and convened startups, investors and ecosystem stakeholders to choose the company that would advance to the global stage. DiiMO was selected by a diverse panel of judges representing venture capital, incubation, acceleration and corporate innovation, reflecting a cross‑section of the Salvadoran entrepreneurial landscape.

DiiMO’s product targets a persistent regional problem: limited access to formal credit for small businesses, independent workers and individuals who have stable income but remain outside traditional banking. Since its founding in 2021, the company has focused on microloans and working capital advances delivered through a mobile application tailored for those segments. The 2023 Pre‑Series A financing, led by Endless Ventures and Aguila Investments, provided the company with resources to expand its financial services across its target markets.

International recognition for DiiMO predates the Startup World Cup victory. In 2025 the company was named among the Top 100 startups worldwide at the Entrepreneurship World Cup in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, an accolade that signalled early attention from global investors and accelerators. That track record helped position DiiMO as a competitive entrant for the national title and for the forthcoming global finals in San Francisco.

The company’s ascent arrives amid modest venture capital inflows into Central America. The Latin America VC Report 2026 by Cuantico VP noted that Central America attracted US$107 million in venture capital during 2025, representing 2.6% of the US$4.126 billion invested across Latin America, and placed the region in Tier 2 of the Venture Capital Efficiency Index with a score of 22.4. In that context, DiiMO’s qualification for the global finals serves as an example of an investable startup emerging from the region and one likely to draw additional attention to Salvadoran fintech innovation.

Outlook

As DiiMO prepares to compete in San Francisco, the company will vie with founders from dozens of countries for the US$1 million prize, while continuing to scale its lending products for underserved entrepreneurs in Central America. Success at the Global Finals would amplify DiiMO’s visibility to international investors and could bolster confidence in early‑stage fintech opportunities across the Northern Triangle.
