Deloitte's Egypt Hub Grows From 23 Staff to 900, With $80 Million More Committed

Deloitte’s technology hub in Egypt has expanded from 23 staff to more than 900 professionals and the firm has committed an additional $80 million over three years on top of $30 million already invested. The Deloitte Innovation Hub now serves hundreds of clients across Europe, the Middle East and Africa, deploying capabilities in engineering, AI, data, cloud and cybersecurity.

"Technology is more accessible than ever before, but access alone does not create value," said Ahmed Salem, the hub’s chief operating officer. "Organisations are moving beyond isolated technology experiments. They want to connect investments in AI, engineering and cybersecurity directly to smarter decisions, leaner operations and stronger financial performance."

The hub emphasises production of deployable solutions rather than pilots. One measurable outcome is in banking and financial services, where bespoke generative AI solutions developed at the hub have enabled secure, automated credit risk assessments that cut processing times from days to minutes. Beyond that example, the hub reports work on end-to-end data platforms and deployment of bespoke generative AI and large language model solutions integrated into business operations rather than isolated experiments.

The expansion follows a wider pattern of multinational firms establishing product and centre-of-excellence activity in Egypt. Spanish outsourcing group Konecta opened a generative AI centre of excellence in New Cairo as part of a $100 million Egyptian investment; vice chairperson Ahmed Al-Harrany said Egypt hosts "a centre of excellence rather than another operational site." Orange Egypt launched the country’s first AI campus in April with Paragon Adeer and Plug and Play, targeting 100 startups by 2030 across a 500-acre site.

Egypt’s broader talent and outsourcing credentials are cited as part of the rationale for such moves. The country ranked 16th globally and second in Africa on the inaugural Ataraxis Global Outsourcing AI Readiness Index (behind South Africa, which placed eighth) and produces more than 750,000 university graduates annually, many in engineering and ICT. "Egypt has the talent, expertise and ambition to deliver some of the world’s most advanced digital transformation programmes," Salem added.

Talent development forms a key part of the hub’s pipeline strategy. The hub delivers ServiceNow training in partnership with the Information Technology Institute and other specialised centres. Its NextStep x UNICEF Mentorship Programme completed an initial cohort and launched a second in July 2026, aiming to bridge the gap between education and industry and support Egypt’s National AI Strategy 2025–2030 goal of a 30,000-strong national AI talent pool by 2030.

The hub sits within Deloitte’s EMEA network of 16 member firms operating across more than 80 countries, with 6,000 partners, some 132,000 professionals and declared revenue of €20 billion. Deloitte has not disclosed a headcount target tied to the new $80 million commitment, a deployment timeline, or revenue figures for the hub itself — data that would clarify whether the next phase can replicate the rapid growth from 23 to 900 staff.
