QIA تقود جولة تمويل من الفئة D بقيمة $200 مليون للشركة الأمريكية Gatik

The Qatar Investment Authority (QIA) has led a $200 million Series D financing round in US autonomous freight company Gatik, the sovereign wealth fund announced on Tuesday. The round was led alongside Koch Disruptive Technologies (KDT) and included participation from ARK Invest, Millennium Management Global Investment, Intact Private Capital, Arca Continental and other investors. The capital will be used to support Gatik’s commercial expansion as demand grows from Fortune 50 retailers, grocery chains and consumer packaged goods (CPG) companies.

"Autonomous freight is transforming the global logistics sector by making it more efficient and reliable," said Abdullah Al Kuwari, Director of Industrial Investments at QIA. "In this regard, QIA is committed to supporting next-generation solution providers that are shaping the future of freight infrastructure, such as Gatik."

Deal participants and strategic rationale

The financing adds to a series of recent commercial milestones for Gatik, which operates fully driverless trucks within active customer networks to move goods between distribution centers and stores. The company runs autonomous operations across Texas, Arizona, Arkansas, and Ontario, Canada. QIA framed the investment as part of its focus on companies demonstrating "strong commercial momentum and significant long-term growth opportunities" amid the shift toward autonomous freight in global supply chains.

  • Lead investor: Qatar Investment Authority (QIA) — $200 million Series D participation
  • Co-lead: Koch Disruptive Technologies (KDT)
  • Other participants: ARK Invest; Millennium Management Global Investment; Intact Private Capital; Arca Continental; and additional investors

Commercial traction and recent partnerships

Gatik reported contracted revenue exceeding $600 million and more than 100,000 orders delivered using fully autonomous freight. The company recently expanded its partnership with PepsiCo, a move QIA highlighted when describing Gatik as one of the firms building "the industry's most commercially advanced autonomous freight networks." The new capital is intended to meet rising demand from large retailers and CPG companies that are seeking to increase freight capacity and improve supply chain resilience and scalability.

Gatik’s model focuses on middle-mile short-haul routes between warehouses, distribution centers and retail locations, deploying multi-stop, purpose-built box trucks that operate without drivers within defined customer networks. That operational model has helped attract customers in the grocery and retail sectors where predictable, repeatable routes can be automated most readily.

Outlook

With the $200 million injection, Gatik is positioned to scale its existing footprint and pursue additional commercial contracts with major retailers and CPG firms. The combination of large institutional capital from sovereign and strategic partners—QIA and KDT—and participation from asset managers such as ARK Invest and Millennium signals sustained investor appetite for autonomy solutions that demonstrate concrete revenue streams. If Gatik converts contracted revenue into expanded deployments as planned, the company could further entrench autonomous middle-mile transport as a commercially viable segment of logistics infrastructure.
