Cleantech Egypt opens applications for acceleration programme; deadline August 15, 2026
The Cleantech Egypt Acceleration Programme has opened applications for Egyptian startups and MSMEs working on clean technology solutions, offering structured support to up to 25 companies with a deadline of August 15, 2026. The programme targets ventures in renewable energy, energy efficiency, waste beneficiation, green buildings, green transportation and sustainable mobility, and sustainable agriculture and agribusiness technology, and is linked to the Global Cleantech Innovation Programme (GCIP) network to boost national and international visibility.
"The programme provides structured acceleration support for up to 25 Egyptian cleantech startups, offering tailored guidance to address the unique challenges of clean technology innovation, commercialization, market deployment, and business growth."
Selected participants will receive tailored mentorship from experienced entrepreneurs, technical specialists and industry professionals, with support calibrated to the specific needs and maturity of each startup. The accelerator emphasises investment readiness: startups will work on business models, financial planning, fundraising strategies and investor engagement approaches to improve their preparedness to attract capital.
- Eligibility: Egypt-based startups and MSMEs with innovative clean technology solutions addressing climate and environmental challenges or improving access to clean water, health, off-grid electricity or sanitation.
- Scope: Renewable energy, energy efficiency, waste beneficiation, green buildings, green transportation and sustainable mobility, sustainable agriculture and agribusiness technology (Egypt only).
- Scale: Structured acceleration support available for up to 25 Egyptian cleantech startups.
- Deadline: August 15, 2026.
The programme also offers business development and commercialization planning to help teams build growth strategies and long-term roadmaps. Participants will gain opportunities for national and international visibility through showcases, ecosystem events, strategic networking, partner communications and Demo Days. The GCIP linkage provides potential participation in activities across an international cleantech network and access to additional ecosystem stakeholders and expertise.
Organisers highlight opportunities for selected startups to participate in regional innovation events: "Selected startups may participate in the Middle East Innovation Week (MEIW) or Techne Summit 2026, where they can engage with investors, corporates, and innovation ecosystem stakeholders." These events will provide networking and business matchmaking, startup showcases, keynote sessions, workshops, industry discussions and potential pitching opportunities to present solutions to investors.
Applicants are expected to present solutions that are new and groundbreaking, adapt existing technologies or business models, or apply existing technologies in unique ways. The programme further aims to strengthen Egypt’s cleantech ecosystem through training and certification of cleantech experts, mentors and trainers, as well as institutional capacity building for organisations delivering cleantech acceleration services.
Those interested are directed to the GCIP for more information on the application process and programme details. With a clear emphasis on commercialization, investor readiness and global connectivity, the Cleantech Egypt Acceleration Programme is positioned to support the next cohort of Egyptian cleantech ventures seeking to scale and attract investment across regional and international markets.
