AI Assistants Can Now Check Your Visa Eligibility: JETT Debuts at ATM Dubai Today

Musafir Holdings unveiled JETT Visa Intelligence at Arabian Travel Market in Dubai today, positioning the platform as a live data layer that can feed real-time visa eligibility into AI assistants via Model Context Protocol (MCP). The platform covers passport holders from more than 200 nationalities travelling to over 120 destinations, and is already powering visa operations on Musafir.com, the UAE online travel agency that says it has served more than 25 million travellers since 2005. JETT bundles eligibility guidance, documentation lists, pricing and processing details, and application tracking into a single service available via Musafir.com, a B2B API, and a Visa MCP endpoint for compatible AI assistants.

How JETT works and why Musafir says it's needed

JETT's technical proposition is to replace a language model's static training data with a continuously maintained live source of visa information. The company emphasises MCP — the open standard that allows AI tools to pull live data from external services — as the mechanism that enables AI assistants to query traveller-specific requirements (passport nationality, country of residence and destination) and receive an up-to-date eligibility response.

Context: a documented accuracy problem with AI visa guidance

The launch follows public warnings that general-purpose AI assistants can provide outdated or incorrect border requirements. In one documented case cited by industry advisories, a traveller was stranded at the Vietnam–Cambodia border after relying on an AI tool that supplied requirements no longer being enforced. Industry surveys underline low consumer trust in AI travel outputs — a Booking.com global study found only 6% of consumers fully trust AI outputs, while an Expedia Group survey reported just 8% of travellers are comfortable completing a booking through an AI platform.

Musafir frames JETT as a mitigation of that failure mode: instead of depending on a model's cutoff-date knowledge, an AI assistant that uses Visa MCP would call JETT's server and retrieve current, traveller-specific visa information. Musafir also notes that for complex or unusual immigration circumstances travellers should still verify requirements with official government sources, and that authoritative benchmarks such as IATA's Travel Centre — updated daily from government data across more than 230 countries — remain the primary reference for many visa services.

Outlook

Practically, the AI-assisted visa experience is conditional. Musafir has built the server-side infrastructure, but whether that capability appears inside leading assistants such as Claude, ChatGPT or Gemini depends on decisions those platforms make about MCP integrations.
