Abwaab Acquires Egypt’s Eduact to Expand Digital Education Solutions Across MENA
Abwaab has acquired Egyptian SaaS company Eduact to bring teacher-focused digital infrastructure into its platform and expand digital education tools across the MENA region. The deal aims to connect traditional classrooms with online learning and scale Eduact’s tools to underserved towns and villages.

Abwaab, the education technology platform operating across six markets in the Middle East and North Africa, has acquired Egyptian SaaS company Eduact as part of a drive to expand digital tools for teachers and education centres and to better connect traditional learning with online education across the region. The deal brings Eduact’s teacher-focused infrastructure into Abwaab’s broader offering, which includes teacher-led learning, AI-powered assessment tools and university admissions support for students, teachers and institutions.
"Advancing education in the Arab world does not depend on one company doing everything. Instead, it requires finding strong teams that are solving real challenges and building alongside them," said Hamdi Tabbaa, co‑founder and CEO of Abwaab. He added that Eduact had "spent years earning the trust of teachers and education centres across Egypt while developing tools that simplify their daily operations," and that Abwaab chose to "build on it and support its expansion" rather than compete with its model.
The acquisition aligns with Abwaab’s stated expansion strategy of growing through targeted acquisitions and partnerships with experienced teams whose capabilities match its vision. By incorporating established products rather than rebuilding them from scratch, Abwaab aims to make technology more accessible to teachers, education centres and students regardless of their location — including towns and villages that many edtech platforms do not reach.
What Eduact brings to Abwaab
- Digital infrastructure for independent teachers and small education centres.
- Management tools for video content, assessments and grading.
- Payment processing and operational support linking traditional classrooms with online learning.
- Established relationships and trust among educators across Egypt.
"Many outstanding teachers operate in towns and villages that remain beyond the reach of most education technology platforms," said Adham Hamed, co‑founder and CEO of Eduact. "Eduact’s mission is to give these teachers access to the same tools and opportunities available to leading educators in major cities, ensuring that a teacher’s impact is not limited by geography." The acquisition is intended to scale those tools across Abwaab’s regional footprint.
Abwaab currently operates in six MENA markets and combines teacher-led instruction with AI-driven assessment and university admissions support. The company framed the deal as reinforcing a broader vision of integrating traditional education with digital learning rather than replacing one with the other. By combining Eduact’s close ties to Egyptian teachers and education centres with Abwaab’s platform and regional presence, the two companies say they will deliver more structured, high-quality learning experiences to students across cities, towns and villages.
Outlook
The timing of the acquisition—announced as students in the region prepare to return to school—positions Abwaab to roll out expanded capabilities ahead of the academic year. For Eduact’s existing users, the deal promises access to a wider set of technologies without requiring specialised technical expertise. For Abwaab, the move reinforces its acquisition-led growth strategy: identify sector-specific teams, integrate their solutions, and extend reach across the MENA region to increase adoption among teachers and education centres that have been traditionally underserved.
