Abu Dhabi Launches ‘Aseed’ Platform to Boost Supply Chain Resilience & Trade

Abu Dhabi is moving to shield its industrial and trade sectors from global supply chain volatility with the launch of a new digital platform designed to

Abu Dhabi has launched Adheed, a new digital platform aimed at strengthening supply chain resilience and streamlining trade logistics for the emirate’s industrial and trade sectors. Announced on April 1, 2026, the platform is a joint initiative led by the Abu Dhabi Investment Office (ADIO) and logistics group 7X, and is designed to centralize how businesses request and receive logistical support, identify bottlenecks in real time, and route requests through a network of government and private partners.

"model for public-private integration," said Tariq Al Wahidi, CEO of 7X, describing the initiative as one that pairs government direction with operational logistics capability.

How Adheed works and who is involved

Adheed is intended to do more than act as a repository of contacts or a static database. The platform actively monitors the flow of industrial inputs tied to imports and exports, allowing users to log logistical support requests that are then routed to the appropriate partner in the ecosystem. ADIO provides market analysis and business support expertise, while 7X contributes logistics infrastructure spanning air, sea and land transport.

  • Policy and coordination: The Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development sets policy directions that align with economic variables.
  • Customs and ports: Abu Dhabi Customs will manage the logistical loop at ports and handle import-export challenges.
  • Quality assurance: The Abu Dhabi Quality and Conformity Council will approve alternative supply sources, balancing speed with regulatory standards.
  • Trade voice: The Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry will operate a trade working group to identify sector challenges and refer cases through the Adheed mechanism.

Mohamed Ali Al Kamali, Executive Director of Trade and Industry at ADIO, framed Adheed's launch as part of a broader economic vision for the emirate, highlighting the need for analytical tools to ensure business continuity. The platform offers real-time data and guidance intended to sustain operations during periods of fluctuation and reduce the time companies spend navigating bureaucratic or logistical gaps when sourcing materials or moving goods.

Technologically, Adheed incorporates artificial intelligence to organize incoming demands and surface actionable insights. According to launch details, the AI component is designed to highlight where supply chain vulnerabilities exist, enabling both companies and government entities to make decisions based on near real-time information rather than retrospective reports.

Outlook

Leaders behind Adheed see the platform as a proactive intervention: instead of waiting for shortages to force business closures, the network aims to identify gaps and connect users with specialized trade and logistics expertise before disruptions escalate. Tariq Al Wahidi has expressed ambitions to expand the platform’s scope beyond Abu Dhabi to include other emirates, widening the support network available to companies across the United Arab Emirates.

The platform’s success will hinge on how quickly the consortium can integrate operational partners, scale AI-driven insights, and adapt to emerging global trade shocks. If it performs as intended, Adheed could become a template for integrated digital workflows that reduce friction for investors and manufacturers operating in Abu Dhabi’s strategic sectors.
