Abu Dhabi Civil Defence Authority launches Community Responder app to enhance community readiness and emergency response
The Abu Dhabi Civil Defence Authority launched the Community Responder app to activate the emirate’s volunteer system, strengthen community readiness, and improve emergency response coordination. The app provides accredited training, volunteer activation and deployment tools, and was developed in partnership with several Abu Dhabi government and social-contribution entities.
The Abu Dhabi Civil Defence Authority has launched the Community Responder application on official app stores as part of the second phase of the Our Community is Ready campaign, the authority announced on 2 April 2026. The move activates the emirate’s volunteer work system and aims to strengthen community readiness and emergency response efficiency to better protect lives and property across Abu Dhabi.
"The launch reflects a proactive vision focused on empowering community members and promoting a culture of prevention and shared responsibility," the Abu Dhabi Civil Defence Authority said, underscoring the app’s role in broadening community participation in safety and emergency preparedness.
The Community Responder app is presented as a smart platform designed to empower and qualify volunteers through accredited training frameworks, the authority said. It is described as one of the primary outputs of the General Framework for Joint Action on Community Participation/Volunteering in Support of Civil Defence Activities in the emirate of Abu Dhabi, a framework developed in partnership with the Emergency, Crises and Disasters Management Centre – Abu Dhabi, the Authority of Social Contribution – Ma’an, and Emirates Foundation’s SANID Programme.
The launch also follows collaboration with the We are All police initiative and reflects an integrated approach to regulating volunteer work and improving coordination among relevant entities. According to the authority, the application will contribute to faster response times, better coordination with relevant authorities, and higher efficiency in handling a range of incidents and emergencies by providing accredited training and a structured deployment model for volunteers.
